Chicken ala Carte ~ Ferdinand Dimadura

Are we conciously aware of poverty among us? Do we order more food than we can eat? Do we buy more than we need? Do we just throw what we cannot finish.

My country is developed but poverty still lurks in some corners. The rich gets richer, the poor gets weaker.

I am a very lucky girl. I live a very sheltered life. All my life, i have had enough to eat. We have wasted and we have thrown away food.

Poverty is real. Many die of poverty everyday.
About 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes, according to the United Nations. This is one person every three and a half seconds, as you can see on this display. Unfortunately, it is children who die most often. (source: http://www.poverty.com/)

I hear the laughter in the video but my heart cries.

I've experienced poverty before, my parents are not well to do. Growing up I'd alwes wonder why they didn't buy me toys like my cousins. Sometimes food was also .. how to say... urmmm, something that was thrown away by others.

But I'm thankful for such experience because it is very humbling and teaches one to be thankful for whatever little one has :)

Experience make us more humble.. and experience makes us what we are today.

i never had many toys when i was a kid too.. i never had a doll... but i have paper dolls.. and whatever toys we made ourselves :) But we always have enough to eat... that makes me luckier than many.
