A common sight at shelters.

They wait.
They hope... to be chosen.
They wish for a good forever home.

Adult cats are pretty hard to be rehomed because everybody wants a kitten.

We call her Lady. She is an amazing lady. Sweet natured and friendly. Calm and always waiting for her turn to be cuddled and loved.

She's been at the shelter since 2011 or maybe longer. That's quite a long time for a cat to wait.

People do not want an ordinary looking cat. Everyone says she looks ordinary. No cat is ordinary if you care enough to take the time to know them. Cats should never be judged on looks alone. She is a most extraordinary cat. Much loved by all the volunteers.

Hopefully, we'll have a home for her soon.

If you would like to give her a home, she is up for adoption at the ISPCA Cattery in Ipoh, Malaysia.

It's so sad when they wait so long. She's lucky to have caring shelter staff and volunteers to help her feel as though the shelter is a home until she find her home. We know a lot of cats and dogs that shut down after long periods of time waiting at the shelter.

Well, that's just the craziest! I don't think she looks ordinary. I think she looks EXTRAORDINARY! I sure hope she finds a home soon.

That is so sad. I wish I could take them all home with me.

It's good that the shelter doesn't have an adopt-by date!

Funny what you say about her being ordinary. I'm not sure about people who adopt solely based on looks, cuteness or pedigree. It must surely be about more than that? When Lady finds a home, she'll have someone who looks beyond her "ordinariness".

Keep up the good work, Anny! X

Corbin.. there are some that shutdown and slowly fade away. Shelters are not forever homes. People have to understand that. By chucking their pet into a shelter, they assume that their pet can grow old there. It doesn't happen. Most of the time, they get sick and die off.

GLP...Our shelter is a no-kill all these years.. but when there's overcapacity, they kill themselves eventually when diseases get to them before anything else. In a shelter, there's a lot of viruses in the air.

She looks ordinary to some that prefers pedigree and cuteness. We do try to sell cuteness because we do want to get the little ones/kittens rehomed faster as their immune system is lower.

When you spend a lot of time with them, you will know that none of them is ordinary. Everyone of them is very adoptable.

There must be someone out there who would love her and give her a good home. We hope they find her soon.

Hi Dommy,

Just stopping by to say hello. I am trying to get my lazy assistant to help me blog more ...she is easily distracted so we will see what happens.

Hope you are doing well.
