All is quiet in the house. Both furry and furry are a snoooooooozing away and having dreams chasing turkeys around the table.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in my home but we love turkeys.. especially a succulent roast turkey. We however are thankful for each day that we can wake up and be alive to create more colors and be of use to others.

We are thankful for
  1. Eyes that see
  2. Hands that can work
  3. Feet that takes us here and there and everywhere
  4. Food in our tummy
  5. Friends and family who give and give
  6. Dommy for being by our side thru the toughest days
  7. Nana in our lives
  8. Mr. Piper who still loves to pee and pee at odd corners when he comes back
  9. Cats in the garden
  10. Coffee in the morning
  11. A job
  12. Friends like you and all of you over the pond and yonder
  13. Nancy's cake
  14. Icing on Nancy's cake Butter cake
  15. Friends and lots of friends at the shelter
  16. Buttercookie that smiles when she's given cookies
  17. A roof over our heads
  18. Wet noses that greet us in the morning
  19. Life with dogs
  20. and lastly the internet for bridging the divide :)
Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours. Hope there's turkey for everyone..furries included.

This is going to be an ongoing post for today :) It should be fun. Do come back later and see what happens at the end of the day. We don't know it too.
  1. Fat bird sitting on a bamboo stick outside my window. Coo cooing away.
"Excuse me fat bird.. Can you quit pooing on my car?"
  2. Wonder of wonders... The fat bird heard me loud and clear. Coo Cooing stopped.
  3. Crap! Another bird came to poo. This one makes a chirpy sound. I am beginning to think that our home here has become an aviary. Or.. i am becoming a bird watcher :O
  4. Grocery runs during lunchtime. The supermarkets are strangely very quiet on a Friday.
  5. RM9.00 for a box of 4 kiwifruits. Used to be 6 fruits in a box. Expensive.
  6. A bunch of bananas only costs RM2.00. We are better off being monkeys.
  7. If i could move my lazy self and grow stuffs in the garden, fruits would costs nothing.
  8. Papayas grow quite easily here. The last time i tried growing catnip from catnip seeds, papaya trees appear instead.
  9. I learn a new word today. Maven. Never heard of it before.
  10. Such a beautiful day today. Blue skies with fluffy white clouds. A day quite wasted in front of a computer screen.
  11. Blue skies reminds me of a child who once asked me to wake him up when the skies are blue. He's 18 now.
  12. I like to spell things wrongly on chats. Purposely. Intentionally. Friends who are on my usual chat radar will understand what i am saying. Some others will keep on correcting my spellings. Learn to chill. Chats need not be grammatically correct.
  13. Saw this poster in a restaurant when i was having dinner with dad. Cracked me up silly. Dad had a good laugh too.
  14. The birds are back. The birds are back. Run for your lives.
  15. Mandarin song usually play on my computer when i am busy with work. They are soothing and somehow fits the mood. I don't understand about the lyrics because i do not know Mandarin. I love the melody though.
  16. People here call people like me bananas. We are yellow skinned but white on the inside.
  17. Its wonderful to be able to work and have your dog beside you. Under very stressful deadlines, my breaks with Dom on the floor are the most rewarding part of the day.
  18. One of my wabi-sabi lovely friend. Abby. A tripod kitty. Would anyone really want an imperfect cat. She waits... and still waits with the other wabi-sabi cats at the shelter.
  19. Love is lovely when its wabi-sabi.
  20. Algae can be most useful for many things.
  21. Google is not well today.
  22. Are you sabotaging google... yoohooooooo?
  23. Sitting at the same table but many worlds apart. Dad asked me to look at an old lady with her daughter at the next table at the food court. They look like they were strangers sharing a table. The daughter is at one end of the table while the old lady is at the other end. Both quietly eating their own meals.
  24. Sometimes it happens to me too. When i am at the food courts, the surrounding sounds drown out my father's many complaints. *LOL* Some older folks like to complain about everything under the sun... and moon. They were really just trying to make conversations.
  25. I am only human. Sometimes i tune out when the sounds are too much.
  26. Purging out thoughts by writing them out are wonderful. When you come back to read about your thoughts, most of the time you will laugh at your own silliness.
  27. God Never Blinks by Regina Brett. Bought this orange book when i was in Bangkok last year. I needed help to face what i needed to face in Bangkok. This one served its purpose and helped me a lot.
  28. I am not a religious person. My dad however prays for all of us all the time. All his children and grandchildren and wife gets prayers everyday. But who prays for him?
  29. We sometimes think that older folks are nagging and unreasonable. We'll probably miss their nagging the most when they are no longer with us one day.
  30. Most mothers are anchors in a family. When the mother is gone, the whole family goes topsy turvy.
  31. Spending time with family is nice. Eldest sis can be a riot. We had a great time doing the stoopids last weekend. We went in two cars to help the kid move to his new dorm at the hospital. Just a kid still and he is walking the rounds at the hospital now. With that comes great responsibility.
  32. He will falter and fall sometimes but i'll pray he'll find the strength to get up each time.
  33. Watching your sister gag and curse at the same time while washing the boys dorm toilets can be most hilarious. It takes a lot of willpower to wash those toilets and to curse and gag at the same time.
  34. PP and Dom. They get to spend some time together last weekend.
  35. The teevee drew me into its clutches again. Is there life after teevee?
35 silly thoughts on a Friday. And with that, a very good night and a great weekend to all of you. We shall be back to bore you with another 100 thoughts if we feel we have to purge again next Friday. Babai!

September came and went away. Time must surely be on a fast forward button lately. Or... Dom might have gobbled up September or kept it in his furry pocket. We are going into the second week of October already.

We had a event recently at the Lost World of Tambun Ipoh (which is a waterpark with a mini petting zoo) for World Animal Day in our city. Our event was to create more awareness towards animal welfare. The Lost World of Tambun invited about 70 kids from different schools to their Petting Zoo and we had our vet and some people to go in to talk to these kids about animal awareness. They also played some games and had a good time with all the kids.

We had our booth at the main entrance of the Lost World of Tambun to spread more awareness towards animal welfare and animal care. We also had an adoption drive for some kittens and puppies.

Our awareness booth at the carpark of the Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh.

One of our volunteers speaking to the public.

Henry Cats and Friends Ipoh supported our event too.

These two puppies were dumped at the gate of one of our volunteer's home when they were really small. They are perfectly healthy puppies just waiting for a forever home.

This brown sweet lil girl was the first puppy to find a forever home. Such a quiet sweet lil girl.
The rest of the puppies were creating a riot but this girl was just so well behaved.

Our most hardworking volunteer. He gives a lot of his time for the welfare of the strays in our city.

This is the mommy cat. One of her kittens was reaching out to her for some reassurance.
It is very touching and sad in a way because soon they will be separated.

The very active bunch of puppies and more puppies. They ate and ate and pooed and peed. And then they all slept.

Our event was most successful and hopefully we did create some awareness in some good folks and hope for change in a small way. Change really don't happen overnight. But change can be like waves.

We will still work tirelessly and hope we are on a right path towards making Ipoh a more compassionate city. We educate the young and younger and hope with time, people will be more tolerant towards stray animals as they have every right to be on this earth as much as we humans do too. If you don't like them, all you have to do is just walk the other way. Do not hurt them please.

If you've been wondering what's happening to Piper and Curly... here they are...

they have been snoozing a lot :)

Here i am all fluffed up and clean. We were on the way to Kuala Lumpur to see Mr Piper.

SHE had to go to church because Nicky was getting confirmed. We had a long mass and the Archbishop Murphy was there to conduct the mass as it was a most special day.
SHE tried to keep quiet during the mass but her sister kept poking her and ask her many questions. Its a good thing no one got scolded for talking in church this time.

We slept quite late as we waited for everyone to come home. Big sis and her kids came over to have a sleepover too. It was nice to have everyone in one place sometimes. By the time her sister arrived, we were all dazed and very asleep. We all got up to give them a warm welcome, did a few rounds of jumps and whoops and barks and we fell back to sleep promptly after that.

Mr P slept with my cow on the mattress as he is a scardy cat dog. He is most afraid of thunder and we had quite a lot of boom booms that night.

We celebrated Nicky's 17th Birthday the next day. This is a most delicious cake. Small and delicious. Macadamia sponge. Everyone only got to have one piece as its a small cake.

Here's the birthday boy. He's very happy here as he got a lot of "angpows" as birthday gifts. He's a very tall guy. Quite a charming fella too. When he was little, he sings all the time. He still loves to sing and he never goes out of tune.

Angpows are cash gifts in red packets. Usually given during Chinese New Year. But they give them for birthdays too. Kids prefer cash nowadays. Being 17, you don't really know what to get them. I wish someone will give me some angpows too... so i can go and buy more greenies for myself and Mr. P.

My silly cow still have to work when she was in Kuala Lumpur. Here i am being with her while she worked in the hall. I am always close by just in case i am needed. Sometimes she love to run her hands through my curls on her breaks. She says its very calming to run her hands through my curly self. I don't mind the tummy rubs. I am a most important person curly to have around especially when she is working.

Mr. Piper tried to stay close to her too. He is just by her feet. Looks like he got stabbed by the plastic chair. OUCH! Are you okay Mr. P?

I was not stabbed silly Curly. I am just sleeping around it. Booyah!

Since my cow says she stinks, she's gonna end this post and cut it short. She really needs a bath. Here's my pretty curly self just in case you all forgot how amazingly cute i can still be at almost 10. I am gonna be 10 soon and i heard that she's gonna have a giveaway for you guys.

Stay tuned for more ya! We'll show you where we went for our walks with Rachel next.
Its my turn to do a blog post. It has come to this stage where we each take turns to do a post and bug the other to hurry up and pump up a new post. Oh yes... i have been lazy. Really i have been really lazy. There's no good excuse anymore :)

Recently i have acquired the taste for more tv time. I numb my brains with so much tv that its beginning to be worrisome. Dommy looks at me all worried each night but he still sits with me. I switched off my computers about 7pm... have my dinner... wait for dad to watch the news for 30mins from 8pm... and lo and behold, the tv's all MINE. MINE MINE MINE. Muahhahhahaa.. i watch this and that and this and that... i channel flip like a couch potato without the chips and numb them skull till 11pm.. sometimes 12. I AM DOOMED.

Hi... my name is Anny. I am a TV addict.

Let me share this with you first while i go scoot off to catch some more tv time. lalallalalalallaa

This video cracked me up silly and i watched it many times. The music of the video made me laugh too. Its just so calmingly right for the video. I know Dommy would love to have some of the kitteh kats in the garden give him a massage. But most of the time, they just bob him on the head.

Dommy and i love watching kitteh kats in the garden. The last time we did some cat watching, we got into a whole lot of trouble with dad. These are alley cats and they love to come to our garden to climb on the trees... dig some of them pots of soil... and just relax in the shade. They love to sleep in the pots too.

We leave them some kitty food and water. They have a meal and they go on their way. The smaller fellas usually stick around as they feel safe here in the garden. They have big trees as scratching posts and they have shade in the porch if it rains. Cats really like their life outdoors. They don't like to be contained. They like to bask in the sun and they like to leave paw prints on your car. Sometimes they try to sneak into the house to check it out.

I kinda like seeing them around. They are a calming presence. They watch and sit with me when i do the gardening. When i rake the leaves, they have races and jump on the leaves. They are totally independent and comes and go. Cats are full of character. They can earn a living without even trying. You just fall for their eyes and their soft mews and you'll be getting them their dinner on time.

I was at the SPCA the other day. The SPCA in my town is a no-kill facility. On my way in, i saw a box of puppies by the lane. All the cute little puppies were just a few weeks old and overflowing out from the box. They were left outside near the small sign to the SPCA. There were a lot of lorries zooming just beside the small road going in. Its still a long way in. If you are going to surrender puppies to the SPCA, why do you not take them all the way in. You can't really expect a bunch of puppies to find their way into the SPCA. People do not want to pay the surrender fees. But the folks at the SPCA do come out and check for abandoned dogs and pups each day. They are very nice people.

When i gathered the puppies back into the box, it kinda felt like Christmas to me. Its magical and one of the puppies even licked my fingers. It felt nice. Being so small, hopefully they will be adopted very soon. There are so many many dogs at the SPCA. Why are people still buying dogs when there's so many you can adopt and rescue. Our culture is such, we want something new.. something pretty... something cute. What if you don't find them so cute after a few months?

Don't buy... Go ADOPT... and NEUTER your pets.

You can't save them all, but you can save some. Its does makes a difference.

Today is Good Friday. Our office in Singapore is closed as its a public holiday there. I hear peace and a quiet day ahead :)

Last year our friend Mr Pip shared a message with all of us. We want to bring it back again this year. Baby rabbits are not Easter gifts.

Here are some Tips for a Pet-Safe Easter from ASPCA

Do say a prayer for Judi. She's still needing all the prayers and thoughts. If you wanna send her a card, please email to Kristin at mrpippip(at)gmail(dot)com for the address. You can read about Judi's updated condition at Taylor Cats.

I haven't been taking much pictures lately of Curly and Piper. But this is one of the most recent one of them together... well.. almost together.

Over to you now Missy Typist :) Your turn :p

We saw this nice picture on someone's tumblr and we stole it. We sure hope SOPA and PIPA plus all the POPA and the MOMA and whichever PA do not come after us after this.

The quote above is quite a good one to share today. We often can judge a person by how he/she treats the little people or the ones that can do nothing for them. We will try not to be too judgemental since is Friday.

We'll be heading off to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning.

Dom's all packed... i'm all packed but dad's not packed at all. He usually gets up at 5am and by the time he's done packing, i guess i'll be up by then :)

Our lil one is finally going to make it home after a very long time. They are now at the airport. I can't sleep as the lil one will be home. I am so excited to see him. I think i am gonna spoil him rotten for one month. We will be busy.. i guess. He will be entertaining.. i am sure. We will be happy... that for sure. Dad will have loads of people to talk to.. finally. At least for a month... he will be very very happy.

Dom didn't make it to the groomers as i was tied up. I dragged him out from under his safe haven under my bed for a bath this evening. The water was indeed dark. *LOL* He haven't had a bath for a week + and he was beginning to smell a little. I think he was quite glad that i finally gave him a bath.

He'll be very happy to see Mr P tomorrow. Hopefully this time i'll get some pictures if i don't get too lazy.

Regarding our Wordless Wednesday picture, we didn't use instagram. We just added a texture on a new layer and adjusted the hues on photoshop. Thank you for all your kind comments. Piper will be very proud.

Thanks to Bunny and Natasha for your input on the Thundershirt. I think it will prove to be very helpful for Mr Poofball.

I better get to shuteye now. Catch you all next week. Have a great weekend cos Spring is here :)

and he sleeps... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz *.*
Blinking. I should probably stop blinking because time just goes missing each time i blink. We are trying hard for a post a week. *LOL* But a whole week went by and no blogging and not much commenting got done. And so... i should tape my eyelid down and stop blinking. ^.*

** Kids... please do not try to do this at home. Taping of the eyelids should only be done by blinking adults and done under expert supervision.

February 13... my dad turns 71. Since it was a weekday, none of my siblings could make it home. But Boy was home for his weeklong break from uni and dad was very happy. We bought a tiramisu cake and took it to my aunts house to celebrate it with my lil nephew who shares the same birthday as my dad. So James and Jayden both celebrated their birthday together.

Being the cruel cow that i am, i bought a lil plastic figurine that kinda resembles my dad. The resemblance is quite shocking *LOL* Well.. my dad is not as bald as Gargamel but the facial resemblance is quite close. Everyone had a good laugh and that lil figurine would be making more appearances for all my dad and all his siblings birthday.

the tiramisu... which was quite delicious

Jayden's cake was made by my aunt. It has all the characters of his favourite shows and that really put a big smile on the kid's face.

Here's Jayden playing with dad's ipad. He just turned two. Dom is waiting his turn to play on the ipad. He's worried as his vegetable plot in the Smurf village is almost ready to harvest.

We took dad to this place with those strange colourful lights to have his birthday meal. It has a good environment and very nice waiters. The food's not all that bad too.

Ahhhh... February 14. The day for lovers and for some people to make loads of money from flowers and chocolates. This simple drawing on the calendar is kinda sweet. You don't see much of these kind of drawings nowadays. I love this type of calendar as I get to tear a page out everyday. Its made of very very thin paper. Kinda like tissue.

February 14 is also a lonely day for introverts like me that do not have a other half yet. So i hopped on the train and went to Kuala Lumpur to celebrate this lonely day with some good friends. I waved at a friend who was in a straw skirt by his office window when i was passing by his office. But i guess he thought that i was just pulling a fast one on him when i said WAVE. *LOL*

We had a good meal at this place called Serai. Just four good friends sharing a giggle and some laughs. We had a very very sweet pavlova to tie up the meal. Being the glutton that i am, i forgot to take the picture of the pavlova to share with you guys. It was a very pretty pavlova.

Serai means lemongrass. Malaysians used a lot of lemongrass in their cooking.

We had some Kilkennys later in the night. Its been quite a while since i had a pint. I think i was very thirsty :p

Actually i was in Kuala Lumpur for some work too. Mr P was so happy to see me, he was running in circles. I think i kinda miss my Curly when i was in Kuala Lumpur as i kept calling Dom when i talking to Piper. No wonder he was looking at me funnily when i called him Dom.

We went for some walkies in the morning and some more walkies in the evening.

Mr P smelling some weeds flowers along the way. We met some kids on bicycles in the evenings and one of them even greeted Piper. *LOL* He was just cycling by and said.. Hi Mr Poofball. I guess Piper is getting more well known as the poofball in this neighbourhood.

We met a worm... and many many worms along the way. There were quite a lot of worms early in the morning. I bet these worms were going for a morning stroll. A lot of them got squashed by the early morning joggers. One even cling on to Piper's feet for dear life and came home with us. If we collected all the worms from the morning walks, we could go fishing with them.

Mr P got really tired from all the walks and promptly fell asleep after all the walks. Even though he has a pretty nice comfy bed, he prefers to lie on the stack of newspapers on the floor. That to him is the best spot to sleep.

Part of his bed is still not dry yet... but he insists on sleeping in it.

Mr P in his comfy bed. He feels very safe in his bed but he is still very afraid of thunder. Maybe i should buy him a thundershirt. Can anyone tell us if the thundershirt really works? Cos Mr Poofball is really really scared when there's lightning and thunder.

Ahhh... i guess you all must have missed Curly. Here he is now. He is getting a bit curly wurly and all his furry self is outta place. He will haveta be groomed this week to greet a special someone who will be coming back this Saturday. We really can't wait until Saturday comes.

GROOM??? i don't need a groom. I look perfectly handsome.
Don't you think so?
I am just hungry. Will ya feed me please.
Pretty please...

Please don't mind the mess behind Dom. I am not very good at housekeeping. ^.^

We will try to post once a week... or once a forthnight. *LOL* We will be hitting the road again this Saturday. Till we meet again. Be safe... be happy and always forgive.. and forget.
