Yesterday saw both Emila and I looking for ducks and more ducks. *LOL* I categorise them all under "ducks" while they are ducks, goose, geese, swans... or mallards maybe. Or should be under "birds". Hmm.. Nevermind :)I guess another fever of ducks would be coming up soon... hehehehe
Maybe my HDR friend Bain would be contributing to some of the duck fever too :)
And it all started from the metallic duck we saw from Yunus's flickr. His duck is brilliant. His work is brilliant.
Here's my ducky story. Now i am off for my coffee :) Enjoy!
While i was away hiding in my cave with Dommy, i have been testing a few things... and sleeping and reading a lot too. Sleeping and reading tops the tests of course. Its too warm in the afternoons...a constant 33 degrees (my eyes just keeps closing).
This whole week was like living in a hotpot. I think i lost a few kilos just sweating away. Bathing few times a day don't help much because you start sweating the minute you step out from the loo.
Anyways... i tried tilt shifting this week with photoshop. Its kinda cool because the pictures looks like miniature faking :D i posted two more on the boomoohoo.
Here's a tutorial from youtube.
"Tilt-shift" actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings.
In many cases, "tilt-shift photography" refers to the use of tilt and a large aperture to achieve a very shallow depth of field. (courtesy from Wikipedia)
Borrowing an effect from Kotakitam Aki's web... he has a pretty good tutorial on it. Very fast and easy too. Thank you for posting the tutorial Aki. Bain, Ken, Emila, Balqis and I were chatting way late yesterday night about these cool effects Emila was testing on her side. Check out her cool pictures here.
I am testing a lot of pictures which i posted on my boomoohoo :) You can go take a peek there too. I think some pictures are disasters to speak.. haha.. but i am a work in motion. Bear with my flaws.
Don't forget Earth Hour is tonite! Let's all lend our hands and vote Earth. Let's do the tiktak :)
