We are suppose to take a proper Chrissy picture for all of you... but Chrissy came and went away and we still got NO proper picture. It is because of the new worm. She can't stay still.

Dommy: Stay still will ya...

Nana: Whyyyyyyyyyyyyuuuufffffff?

Happy New Year 2014 to all our friends near and far... and May the new year bring with it a wholllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeee lotta NOMS NOMS NOMS for Dommy & Nana + Piper lot of goodness and happiness and greatness to all of you my buddies out there.

Until then... CYA next year!

mew mew MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW from the notty kitty too!

My first stuffie in my forever home. Its name is Zoey. Its a free toy which my hoomans got from Zoetis.

Zoey wears an orange vest which i love to take off. She used to have a pink nose too but it was rather tasty so i ate it gave it a good crunch and its now noseless. I hope Zoey can still smell.

All is quiet in the house. Both furry and furry are a snoooooooozing away and having dreams chasing turkeys around the table.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in my home but we love turkeys.. especially a succulent roast turkey. We however are thankful for each day that we can wake up and be alive to create more colors and be of use to others.

Happy Thanksgiving from our home to yours. Hope there's turkey for everyone..furries included.

This is one very strange picture. Dommy and Nana seems to be up on the ceiling having their lunch. Defying gravity :) Dommy just had a crew cut again.. and you can see all his dotty skin even though he's not a dalmation. He's just old. His dotty self blends beautifully with our floor :)

An aerial view of Nana while she is eating. Can't really take pictures of her because she just wriggle too much when she's not eating. She's like a worm. She's in the category of ideal dog weight.

My dear Dommy... from the aerial view... he looks like a dotted beer bottle. A nice cold beer would be nice. He is in the overweight dog category. Some waist can still be seen from above.

Now that we have a dog here to compare weights and share food, hopefully Dommy will get to his once ideal weight one fine day.. soon.

Both of them are getting along beautifully. Sometimes there's a bit of tension when the young worm just wants to run and run around the garden... nonstop zoomies while the ole Dommy just wants to go out and sniff the plants and enjoy some air. The Dommy from once upon a time ago loved to do zoomies too. But they keep each other company and i am glad Dommy has a friend to play with every single day even though he gets exhausted easily now.

Dommy is very tolerant of Nana. I realise that he has aged a lot when he is playing with Nana. My constant friend for 6+ years. He has aged a lot and slowing down. When i am working, he was beside me all this time. He was not even suppose to be my dog. He was adopted for my parents. He just became mine.

But.. we'll take each day as it comes :) Life is beautiful when its life with dogs.

Our newest family member. I brought her home on 2nd November 2013. That'll be her Gotcha Day.

As some of you know... Dommy loves the company of other dogs. Mr Piper however does not like to play with him. When Nana came... you can see from his expression.. he's happy. Very happy.

I realised that what he really needs and wants is the company of another dog. In his senior years, i feel that i owe him that much. To bring him more happiness and someone to play with. He's suddenly transformed back to being a puppy and running round and round the garden.

Nana is only suppose to stay with us for only 2 weeks. I was fostering her and am suppose to bring her to our adoption drive today. Today my dad agreed to let Nana stay. I am really really very happy. I went to the adoption drive today without Nana. Dad said that she's a good girl and she can stay.
I fail big time at fostering.

She is a very good girl. Only 1+. High energy and loves to run loops around the garden. Sweet natured. She was one of the puppies who was adopted out from our adoption drive last October. Even back then, i noticed she had a very good temper as she was quiet but the rest of the puppies were making a racket.

Her owners only know how to love her and only taught her all the good things. She never knew fear. She trusted everyone and love everybody. She even trust cats. She only know love and love to be loved. Like a human child, she loves to sit on your lap and wriggle like a worm.

My mornings are now filled with cold noses to my face. Relatives just shake their heads and ask me why i allow another dog in the house. They shake their heads in disbelief. They tell me its unhealthy and its not good to have dog + dog in the house.

If you are going to have a pet and not treat him/her like a family member, you should not have a pet. You can hire a security guard instead. I now sleep more soundly at night knowing that i am with two furry loved ones. I now have two shadows. I have more sand in the house, more poo to scoop but i am happy.

Oh... an owl came by the garden the other day. It settled down on our swing and fell asleep. It looks like an owl from the Harry Potter movies. It sure didn't go hoot hoot hoot. It let out a very cold wailing sound which spook the hell out of me.

She love stuffies and she loves to de-stuff Dommy's bed too. Dad gave her the name Nana after the singer Nana Mouskouri. Her nickname is Cacing (which means worm in our Malaysian language).

More stories in the days to come. We are now just trying to get to know one another. Goodnight for now.

What a lil Pip all the way in Chicago mean to me. Well... first of all... he sent me a song to remind me of him.

Here i was innocently waiting at a cafe for a friend, sipping my drink.. lost in my own thoughts.. and he decides to poke some fun at me and see if i remember.

The cafe was empty except for the barista and the cashier. And there was Pip with his song.

How is this song his song? Kristin made a video of Pip on a couch.. snoooooooooooozing away a long time ago with this song. I remember i watched it a few times way back then. After that this song reminded me of Pip all the time.

Actually i stole a lot of Pip's videos on his blog when Real Player had the Save function (I confess I stole from you Kristin). I went thru my saved videos on Real Player and there is a lot of videos of Pip.

He's tiny but he's big in every other way. His smile is contagious. Most of the time he made me smile when i see his grin in the pictures. The first picture of his on his blog header.. of this Giant Pip in a tiny village of people.. that was when i loved Pip. Who could forget Pip in the lion suit. That was hilarious. The tiny dog with big dreams. And he really got back into the game.

I don't really know the right words to say to people anymore when they lose someone they loved. Time will heal and the memories will somehow get you thru it.

For some of us, when we lose our beloved dogs, we never want to adopt another dog anymore. It just hurts too much. But the empty bed and toys... another dog somewhere out there could use a home and the love that you guys are capable of giving. When the time is right, open your heart again for another dog. Let another furry fella fill that gap. He will want that for you.

How did a lil dog across the big big pond made such a big impact on so many lives. He sure did... he was big.. and he was Pip. I will always remember you my lil buddy.

Run free!

One of the animals that were picked up recently by our rescue person. This is Twiggy.

This is the first time i saw her at the shelter. A bit afraid.. some soft growls but is quite gentle. The growls were because she was protective of her little ones.

Their eyes were not even open yet.

This is not just any mommy dog and babies. Twiggy is emaciated.

We have given her canned dog food, kibbles, eggs, goats milk, liver, boiled chicken. She doesn't seem to put on any weight. Its been two weeks since she first arrived. Her stools are however better looking last week.

I seek your help. Does anyone have any idea how to help her? Your comments are greatly appreciated.

This is another emaciated young dog that was picked up last week. She however is fostered at one of the volunteers home. She has parvo too.

We see so many homeless dogs and cats around us. The least we could do is offer them some food and water. For a young dog like this to get to this stage of emaciation, she must be hungry for a very long time.

“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.”

Another great friend has crossed over to the rainbow bridge. We will always remember you and how your stories made us all laugh all the time. Run free Pipster. We shall see you again one day soon.

So... did anyone of you went out and bought the book or googled "why you should store your farts in a jar". It is becauseeeeeeeeeeeeeee... people believe that keeping farts in a jar could ward off the black death.

(Excerpt from the book Why You Should Store Your Farts in a Jar by David Haviland)
The Black Death was one of the deadliest plagues in human history. Between 1348 and 1350 it killed around 1.5million people in Britain...
....
........................................
Since it was believed that the plague was caused by deathly vapors, it therefore made sense that other foul smells might help to ward off the disease. Some doctors therefore recommended keeping dirty goats inside the home, to create a therapeutic stink. Others suggested using another source of foul odors: our own farts. However rather than waste the precious pungencies, people were instead advised to store their farts in jars, which could then be opened and inhaled the next time the deadly pestilence appeared in the neighbourhood.

If anyone can find out how to store farts in jars, do tell me. Eat lotta lotta beans and store them. It could be such a nasty gift to prank someone especially with a label.. "Summer Scents in a Jar".

This is a really interesting funny book to read. Dommy was last seen grinning to himself while reading this book. If you have not read it, go out and get a copy :) And no... i was not paid or given a free copy to review.

Tuesdays are the only days i am up before the sun comes up. Usually i am up before the alarm goes off. Dommy will be fidgetting in his bed with a i need to pee i need to pee look. We out to the porch at 6am and he does his business and sniff some tires to check out who's been in our garden at night.

Then i wait for my helper from the village. She comes to help me clean the house. My hands are not very good around soaps n too much washing. Even though i pay her, i treat her like an aunt. She potters around and we chat and i help her lift some stuffs. She does an honest 2 hours of cleaning. She is a blessing to me.

I am quite the bin when it concerns food. On somedays, when my dad goes out with his friends for lunch or dinner, i'll entertain myself by being da bin. Yesterday i had all the below because my dad went out for lunch and dinner.
  • coffee
  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • 1 piece of egg toast
  • coffee
  • 1 piece of leftover chinese peanut pancake
  • 3 slices of bread with sliced ham and jam + cheese
  • yogurt
  • milo
  • ABC soup
  • a piece very nice fried chicken
  • 2 pieces of orange jaffa cake
  • 1/2 of a tiny mooncake
I am keeping a record of what i ate yesterday because i seemed to eat a LOT thru the day but i was still hungry at 9pm. Strange.

Jaffa cakes reminds me of Wilf. Don't know when this box appeared in our fridge. But these were chocolate coated and really soft and nice. I could eat the whole box but i will feel sick after that. Dommy didn't get to eat any of this and he's not talking to me now.

That's all for today. Back to work. I will remain tranquilo regarding work :) Do not worry Georgia.

Here's our lovers at the shelter. They are always together. Snuggling... and so in love. My two friends Garfield (the boy) and Panther (the girl).

Its going to be a month again since my last post. *LOL* How do you guys post every single day... and some of you even schedule your posts to come up at the same time every single day. I salute thee.

I dished out a long rectangular book from the cupboard just now. I got it from the booksale last December. Still smelling gorgeous. Fresh smelling new book. Sometimes i buy books because there's an animal on the cover. Especially when there's a cat or a darn cute dog on the cover. People always tell me not to judge a book by its cover. But its a darn cute dog. Who can resist.

Do any of you buy books because you like the cover? I bought this rectangular book because i like the shape of the book. Its a nice size to hold and it smells gorgeous. The title of the book is.. urmm.. should i share it here.. you might think that i am strange... urmm.. but you are all great people. And some of you are my good friends.. ok ok. The title of the book is...

Why You Should Store Your Farts In A Jar
& Other Oddball Or Gross Maladies, Afflictions, Remedies, And "Cures"
by David Haviland

Don't ask me why you should store your farts in a jar because i don't know yet. I have not read it yet... but it should be fun. I'm just smelling my still new book. Hopefully they tell me why by the end of the book.

Anyhow... what have we been doing these past few fast weeks.

Work is at its peak..peaking.. crap.. we have a small lull this week and so many problems creep up.. *LOL* work is work. Don't ever let work consume you and make you cry. Work at solutions and stop throwing the blame is a start.

Anyhow... Dom is still curly and his curls are quite curly now. He's almost due for another grooming session with a papaya spa in a forthnight. Don't tell him that. He still do not like to be left at the grooming place.

The SPCA in my town held a huge adoption drive over the long weekend. Three days of an adoption drive which saw many many dogs/puppies/kittens/cats getting homes. Most of the dogs/cats came from shelters/welfares/independent rescues all over town. Its scary to see how easily people take home an animal/pet. Especially puppies. We could only wish that all of them have found great homes. But we know some of them won't. The SPCA is currently checking on all adopters one by one.

Three of our own rescued puppies were also at the adoption drive. They were from another batch of mommy and babies. They were taken off the street to a safe house for them to grow up a bit. Mommy brown dog is now living the good life with her adopter. Her name is Deborah. Such a nice nice name for a brown dog. She's very docile to us. Almost like she knew us all her life. So trusting.

Deborah

This white brownie puppy was a hit. Everybody was checking out his paw and everybody loved his face. I sure hope the adopter will love him a lot. We named him Sami Vänskä from the Finnish power metal band Nightwish. Isn't he adorable?

Sami Vänskä

And then there's Jukka. He was adopted the minute he arrived at the adoption drive. How can anyone resist this happy face.

Jukka

Bella was adopted out quite fast. But she was returned the next day as she didn't get along with the other dog at home. She was readopted to a single dog family. I sure hope the family will be most patient with her. She's small but fiesty. Full of energy and she's all fun like how a puppy would be.

Bella when she was much younger

Finally there Troy. He was already booked even when he was out on the streets. Some lady wanted him then but they begged her to take him when he's much bigger so that he can get the best nutrients from the mother's milk and his mom can teach him some social skills. Poor Troy was crying when i sent him to the adopter's house. He was extremely quiet in the car and he had tears streaming down. I've never seen such emotions from a puppy. It just broke my heart then. I wanted to turn back and head back to the shelter. But... i wish for them to have a home and a somebody to love them.

Troy

Everytime they move on to their forever homes, we give them him a hug and a kiss on their forehead and wish them a great home. We can only wish that they will get the best homes and it will be a forever home. We have to have faith in humanity and in people.

This is the Bercham family when they were out in the streets taking shelter in some empty shophouse. They were a lucky bunch who were seen and lifted off the street. There are many many stray puppies born each day in my country. How do we save them all? Only thru TNRM can the problem be resolved slowly and thru time maybe we can have a solution to the stray animal issue in our country.

People still buy that cute lil puppy in the window. Breeders still breed in their backyard and in deplorable conditions. When there's demand, there will be supply. Very simple economics.

This is Chachi. She's about 1 year plus. She was one of our puppies that was adopted during one of our past adoption drive. She needs to be rehomed as her adopter is moving back to the Philippines and am unable to take her along. If anyone of you in Malaysia who would love to give her a home, please leave me a message. I have 1 month to find her a good kind home. Her owner is very sad to give her up as he love her a lot but sometimes conditions do not allow some choices to be made.

I think she's very beautiful. Her face reminds me of Sugar.

I've got to go find out why farts need to be stored in jars :D Goodnight my friends. Another story perhaps tomorrow if i am not too lazy. It gonna take me a while to write that one.

Our furry friend Hero has crossed over to the rainbow bridge. If you do know Hero, do drop by and send his hoomans some words of comfort.

Comments are switched off on this post.

I've arrived evolved.

From cat watching... i went to bird watching and today i did people watching.

My dad doesn't see too well at night to drive on his own. He was meeting his friends for dinner tonight. His friends always ask me to join their dinners but i never did. They have many things to talk and laugh about and i'll just be in the way. So i went people watching at the mall.

Am working on a project these past few nights. Brainstorming didn't come up to much. *LOL* But it helps. I love brainstorming with friends over the internet. After all the late nights i've been keeping, i think the yawns came 10 folds today. I would probably offend my dad's friends if i kept yawning while having dinner with them.

People watching...
  1. Went to the Nikon shop to get a card replacement. Snotty staff. Probably because i was in slippers and had my camera in a cloth bag. *LOL* Who carries their SLRs in cloth bags... except me. Staff was a wee bit more helpful after i winked and bat my beautiful eyes at them kinda said something intelligent. *LOL* Saying something intelligent hardly happens with me.
  2. Went to Camera Planet today. The guy was really helpful and friendly. I didn't even winked or bat my beautiful eyes at him didn't even say anything intelligent. I'll be going to Camera Planet from now on because they have helpful staffs. Customer service is everything if you are running a business.
  3. Had a filet o fish at McDs while waiting for dad. I don't usually eat alone at public places but since i had time and my stomach was beginning to growl like a bear. I sat at a long table and a family came to join me. We just exchange smiles. They probably felt awkward and was silent. I was just answering my emails while munching on my burger. After a long awkward silence from the family, i finished my meal quickly and gave them a nod and left. It was fun to be sitting with strangers at public places. Sharing tables with strangers are quite a norm in most chinese restaurants in town.
  4. Can't help noticing this lady with her kids at the next table. Young mother. Pretty. But she has a light moustache. I took a second look and yes.. its a lady moustache. What's the best ways to remove a moustache on a woman's face?
People watching has taught me not to judge shops by the shop exterior. People watching has also taught me not to giggle/laugh loudly when i am alone.
I realise i don't do a lot of people watching. I watch a lot of teevee... cats and some birds. We'll do more Dommy watching from now. I got to learn how to love him as much as he loves me. Let's do some Dommy watching with me below.

He doesn't like to look at the camera much nowadays. He says he has bad teeth. So he can't smile broadly.
My cow took my pictures today. Its been a long time since she last took pictures of my curly self. She's just been taken overs by teevee and cats.. and sometimes birds.

Yesterday night, i had a short breathing episode. She stayed with me and was worried she's gonna lose me soon one day. I told her no way. I still have many bones to eat and wriggly dances to perform at the sunny garden. I am not about to leave her so soon.

I am getting old. Yes. A most senior dog. Only in appearance. I am still a puppy inside.

She lets me eat whatever i fancy. Grandpa says i am too FAT. But actually grandpa feeds me the most tidbits. Even prawn crackers.

I am not leaving anytime so soon. I just love to spook her silly. And i love my cow a lot. More than she will ever learn to love me back. But she does cook me yummy food.

Here's to life and many more adventures with the Curly.

Overs and outs.

The Curly One.
This is going to be an ongoing post for today :) It should be fun. Do come back later and see what happens at the end of the day. We don't know it too.
  1. Fat bird sitting on a bamboo stick outside my window. Coo cooing away.
"Excuse me fat bird.. Can you quit pooing on my car?"
  2. Wonder of wonders... The fat bird heard me loud and clear. Coo Cooing stopped.
  3. Crap! Another bird came to poo. This one makes a chirpy sound. I am beginning to think that our home here has become an aviary. Or.. i am becoming a bird watcher :O
  4. Grocery runs during lunchtime. The supermarkets are strangely very quiet on a Friday.
  5. RM9.00 for a box of 4 kiwifruits. Used to be 6 fruits in a box. Expensive.
  6. A bunch of bananas only costs RM2.00. We are better off being monkeys.
  7. If i could move my lazy self and grow stuffs in the garden, fruits would costs nothing.
  8. Papayas grow quite easily here. The last time i tried growing catnip from catnip seeds, papaya trees appear instead.
  9. I learn a new word today. Maven. Never heard of it before.
  10. Such a beautiful day today. Blue skies with fluffy white clouds. A day quite wasted in front of a computer screen.
  11. Blue skies reminds me of a child who once asked me to wake him up when the skies are blue. He's 18 now.
  12. I like to spell things wrongly on chats. Purposely. Intentionally. Friends who are on my usual chat radar will understand what i am saying. Some others will keep on correcting my spellings. Learn to chill. Chats need not be grammatically correct.
  13. Saw this poster in a restaurant when i was having dinner with dad. Cracked me up silly. Dad had a good laugh too.
  14. The birds are back. The birds are back. Run for your lives.
  15. Mandarin song usually play on my computer when i am busy with work. They are soothing and somehow fits the mood. I don't understand about the lyrics because i do not know Mandarin. I love the melody though.
  16. People here call people like me bananas. We are yellow skinned but white on the inside.
  17. Its wonderful to be able to work and have your dog beside you. Under very stressful deadlines, my breaks with Dom on the floor are the most rewarding part of the day.
  18. One of my wabi-sabi lovely friend. Abby. A tripod kitty. Would anyone really want an imperfect cat. She waits... and still waits with the other wabi-sabi cats at the shelter.
  19. Love is lovely when its wabi-sabi.
  20. Algae can be most useful for many things.
  21. Google is not well today.
  22. Are you sabotaging google... yoohooooooo?
  23. Sitting at the same table but many worlds apart. Dad asked me to look at an old lady with her daughter at the next table at the food court. They look like they were strangers sharing a table. The daughter is at one end of the table while the old lady is at the other end. Both quietly eating their own meals.
  24. Sometimes it happens to me too. When i am at the food courts, the surrounding sounds drown out my father's many complaints. *LOL* Some older folks like to complain about everything under the sun... and moon. They were really just trying to make conversations.
  25. I am only human. Sometimes i tune out when the sounds are too much.
  26. Purging out thoughts by writing them out are wonderful. When you come back to read about your thoughts, most of the time you will laugh at your own silliness.
  27. God Never Blinks by Regina Brett. Bought this orange book when i was in Bangkok last year. I needed help to face what i needed to face in Bangkok. This one served its purpose and helped me a lot.
  28. I am not a religious person. My dad however prays for all of us all the time. All his children and grandchildren and wife gets prayers everyday. But who prays for him?
  29. We sometimes think that older folks are nagging and unreasonable. We'll probably miss their nagging the most when they are no longer with us one day.
  30. Most mothers are anchors in a family. When the mother is gone, the whole family goes topsy turvy.
  31. Spending time with family is nice. Eldest sis can be a riot. We had a great time doing the stoopids last weekend. We went in two cars to help the kid move to his new dorm at the hospital. Just a kid still and he is walking the rounds at the hospital now. With that comes great responsibility.
  32. He will falter and fall sometimes but i'll pray he'll find the strength to get up each time.
  33. Watching your sister gag and curse at the same time while washing the boys dorm toilets can be most hilarious. It takes a lot of willpower to wash those toilets and to curse and gag at the same time.
  34. PP and Dom. They get to spend some time together last weekend.
  35. The teevee drew me into its clutches again. Is there life after teevee?
35 silly thoughts on a Friday. And with that, a very good night and a great weekend to all of you. We shall be back to bore you with another 100 thoughts if we feel we have to purge again next Friday. Babai!

Mommy. I call her Mommy.

First time i saw her... Victor was giving her a bath.
She was all stinky but smiling.
Such a sweet Mommy she is.

Heavily pregnant and lifted off the street by our one man rescue.

Our rescue consist of only one man and a red van.
He's a retired man with some time on his hands.
A wonderful person who devotes most of his time saving and feeding strays in my hometown.
He is not even a Malaysian.
He doesn't want to be recognised for his work.
He works quietly in the background.
Only the animals know of his work.
Only the animals know of his kindness.

A few days later, we were greeted with this one morning.

Mommy: I got some gifts for you all

Mommy is not a big dog. She's just a regular size dog. But look at how many she hid in her small body.

Mommy: I think i am hungry. Do you have some food for me.

And there were six. All six beautiful fat lil babies survived. Three boys and three girls. We named them the Oodles of Fun Family.

They sure were a fun lil pack. They grew very fast. In a short two months, they were ready to find homes.

The busybodies. Their bodies are always wriggling and dancing and forever moving.
Their bodies are always so busy.

Mommy and Jake

Word went out thru the grapevine. An adoption drive and soon.. one by one... they left. Each puppy were spayed before they were released to their forever families.

What about the mommy? Everybody loves a cute lil puppy but what about a grown up stray?

She has lived all her life on the streets. Running and looking for scraps of food. Sometimes some people can be mean to strays. The splash hot water to shoo them away. They stuff themselves silly with so much food on their table while a hungry stray dog stand meters away. A morsel of food for me please sir?

She remained a very trusting dog even thru the years of living on the streets. She burrowed deeper into my heart each time i see her. I kept telling myself if nobody adopted her, i'll take her home.

Mommy is to be released and managed as a TNRM dog if she is not adopted out within a timeframe. We needed to use her living space for another rescued mommy with another 6 puppies. Its a never ending cycle if people still do not believe in spaying/neutering their pets.

Mommy was adopted out yesterday. She is now living with a boxer furry buddy. If they can tolerate each other, the family will keep her. She is on a trial basis with this family. I know she's gonna do great. She is gonna burrow into their hearts like she did with mine and with some other volunteers that fed and loved her these few months.

Happy Trails Mommy. You are indeed one fine lucky girl. Thank you for your lessons on love, trust and innocence.

Noah's Ark do not have a dog shelter. They manage the cattery for ISPCA Ipoh. They do a lot of TNRM (Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage) for the strays in Ipoh.

Think... before you buy another puppy in the window. Adoption Saves Lives. Each Adoption Saves Two.
