Kinda stumbled upon this. It reminded me of Dom. We don't have a piano in this house but this is probably what he would do if we had one.

Dommy is kinda attached to me at the hip. As he gets older and his eyes are getting not too great, he is more insecure. When he sleeps he's like an ole engine sputtering away. He gets worried when i go out. He gives me this very sad eyes. He'll start howling when my car is gone. Dad gets worried too when i go out. He's afraid to be alone. But he doesn't howl :o

We didn't know Dom howls his sadness till we were on holiday at my sister's house. When i went out... he started to howl. My sister was in another part of the house and was wondering what was howling and she found Dom. The only time he ever howled was when my mom passed away. He let out a very long sad howl. It sounded kinda spooky.

I know Dom loves me a lot. More than i love him. When i am feeling sad, i just hold on to him and bury my face in his fur. He seems to understand. Sometimes he licks my tears away.

Dogs have a deeper understanding of things and matters that are closest to the heart. Humans will never quite get near that.

I wish to thank all of you and your kind words. Things will fall into place. There's a beginning and there's an ending. I will be ready when it ends.

Hopefully i'll catch up with all of you one day soon.

The shelter where i spend my weekends are having a Christmas Bazaar. If you are in my town... and am around on the 1 & 2 of December.. do drop by and support us. Its held at a cafe where girls are allowed to burp and its okay for men to giggle.

The beauty of doing nothing. Bel far niente.

A week has gone by and we are going into the 2nd week of January 2012. We are still doing nothing much. We haven't caught up with most of you yet. Our apologies for the slack.

Before we carry on, we want to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. We hope the new year brings with it a lot of good in everything you need and enough for everyone to make it through a happy and healthy year.

We hope our buddy little Pip will get well soon too. You know Pip. The one with the big heart. The little guy is all heart. The sweetest fella around.

Get Well Soon Pip. We are still keeping all our toes, paws, fingers crossed for you.

My 2011 ended on a mellow note. I was sick with strep throat for the last two weeks of December. It was a pretty quiet end to my 2011 as i could hardly speak except for some squeaks. *LOL* Even swallowing my saliva was quite painful. It was a good way to quiet down and get some rest to end the year.

Being in Kuala Lumpur with family for Christmas, and most of the time in bed nursing the squeak was nice in a way. I did nothing. Just hanging around with Curly and Mr. P. They were my two nursing aides. I didn't have to go anywhere too.

Christmas came and went... Christmas tree was up and down. The one at home here was just taken down this afternoon. All packed and stored back.

Jaiboo didn't get to come home for Christmas and his 3rd birthday. Hopefully they can make the trip in February next month. Dad is still waiting patiently for the little guy to come back. Poor Jai was waiting for his grandpa to come for his birthday party last Sunday. He still doesn't understand that we are many many thousand miles away. We'll have another big party for him when they are home.

All Curly got for Christmas was a stuffie with a heart. Its still in very good condition. Curly is not a stuffie destroyer. He sleeps with it every single night. Hopefully this stuffie will help him with his separation anxiety issues.

Mr P got a stuffie for Christmas too. He has a collection of many stuffies now all over the floor. But he usually only likes his old old Pikachu. That is still his favourite and his best friend.

Christmas eve lunch with family. This year's chicken turned out better and prettier as i was not the cook. *LOL* We were lucky to have a close friend who didn't mind slaving in the kitchen to bring us a most wonderful lunch. He only comes by to cook every Christmas.

To some of you who were worried about Piper getting boxed up and shipped off... do not worry. He was just napping in the box. He was being boxed up too for some other reasons. That will be a story for another day. He seemed to love the box a lot. Maybe he does think that he is a kitteh kat.

I spent the 31st of December with my best buddies. We went for a huge dinner at some Thai restaurant in a very remote side of Jinjang. The food was really good but i didn't take much of it as my throat was still quite sore. I still sounded like some mouse with squeaks.

11 years ago, i spent my countdown with these same people. We were lucky to be able to gather again and enjoy some fireworks that night by the highway. All the cars just stopped on a busy highway and everyone got out of their cars to watch the fireworks when it was 12. It was insane.

Halfway through the fireworks, one of my friends showed us a picture on her mobile. Earlier that morning, she was at the hospital to do some tests. The doctor ordered a biopsy immediately when he saw the condition of the lump on her breast. She's has been diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer.

Her doctor told her that she's a wee bit late in coming for treatment. They cannot do surgery to remove the lump now. She has to starts chemotherapy next week. Her doctor told her that its not the end of the world. Her life has just begun.

She's an awfully healthy person. If you look at her, you will never know that she's sick. She works very hard and very very long hours ever since she was 19. She takes care of her family and all her siblings. I knew her when i was 20. She's one of my best buddies. We have been through many ups and downs together. We have done many silly things together too. She was the one that dropped everything and scooted off with me to Malacca on my birthday last year.

She's like my sister... my sibling. I can tell her many things and share many of my secrets. I trust her with my life as i know that she will never let me down. She has never let me down too. Whenever we asked for help, she's the first one who will drop everything and come.

Cancer is treatable these days if you are not too late. Chemotherapy is hell. Anyone who has gone through that will tell you so. Through it all, she is still trying to put up a brave front. She called and asked me about the chemo port. She asked me.. what the hell is that. Should i put it in?? We joked about the chemo port and wondered if it will work like the ipod. I hope it plays some good music.

We are in different cities. Still 2 hours apart. If i could only have one wish, i wish that she will be cured.

I am basically doing nothing. I am the master of doing nothing this week as i have not digested all the current news yet. My apologies for being away and very distant.
Holaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :) We are back :) Bye bye.

opps! We are not supposed to be saying Bye bye so fast. Happy New Year everyone :) We are about a week late back to bloggieland. Hope you all have missed us becossssssssssssssss.. we have missed you all loads.

First off, do join Pip and Bunny for the match of the year. The will both be racing for the World's Fastest Dog on February 5th, 2011. Don't miss this for the world. They are both training very hard now with their respective coaches. You can visit them here.

A lots has been happening even though we are only at day 9th of 2011. We brought home a big bad bug from Kuala Lumpur and i was sickies with the flu and the fever this week to start off the year with a bang. Playing dead on the bed for few days wasn't much fun so finally i decided to quit playing dead and work instead. Keeping busy is sometimes a cure for many things.

One of the soldiers in our work team went for an eye operation last week. Less one soldier and more yellow blinky faces to torture me. I thought i'll be rid of yellow blinky faces when my job specifications changed slightly last year. I forgot how some yellow faces can be quite stressful.

Anyhow... i still have to survive one more week before my poor old colleague can work again. She should get a good rest first and let the eye heal. The eyes are one of the most important things... and losing your sight would be a terrible thing to happen. So take care of your eyes. Don't stare at the computer for too long. Go for pee breaks. Go for walks. Take your doggie for a leak. Get some grubs.

Christmas was wonderful. This year we cooked some stuffs and ate at home.

Christmas lunch

blue fruit jelly

Being with family was great. We had one of the most hilarious Christmas gift opening sessions this year. We were all reduced to tears because we laughed too much. I think Christmas gift exchange should go in this direction to have a merrier mood.

We did missed part of our family in London especially Jaiboo. Hopefully next Christmas, we'll have the little one here. He just turned two recently. How much we have missed watching him grow up.

Mr Piper wasn't too happy with his Christmas gift too. He was showing his unhappiness by barking at the boxes. He was snooping under the trees before Christmas and secretly checking out the pressies for nom noms. When he didn't find any... well...some pressies got ripped. *LOL*

all i got for Christmas is this. Can you believe it?

You are not taking mine.

More stories to come later :) Now Mr Dommy has to go for a leak. We'll try to slip in a post next week if the yellow blinkers allow an hour of peace. Till then... take care. We'll be slowly going around to visit all of you guys soon... Its good to be back.
Dearest Friends and Furries,

We are going to be hitting the road (OUCH!) later this afternoon to be with family for Christmas. We want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and May the New Year brings lots of goodness and happiness to everyone.

If you are getting a new pet for someone this Christmas, do check out the SPCA or shelters for dogs. There are so many who deserves a second chance and a forever home. Don't buy a brand new dog. Give the ones at the shelters a chance.

Thank you for always dropping by to leave your comments. We appreciate your friendship and love.

See you all next year! Take care and be safe on the roads.

with love,
Dommy, Piper and Anny
When he sleeps, he exudes peace all around. That is one of the reasons why we should always let sleeping dogs lie. Sometimes he has dreams and he goes "yip yippp yipp*. On most days, he just snores like an old train chugging down the railroad.

I wonder if they dream when they sleep. Do they dream of chasing cats up trees or barking at the mailman or probably dreaming of a big delicious bone to savour.

He has almost outgrown his little red bed. It is fun to see them fit themselves in their beds and try to get comfortable.

All he wants for Christmas are tummy rubs.
Tails a wagging.. du du du... tails a wagging.. du du du... that is a happy tail from the top dog :) He's still top dog around here (i think). Status haven't changed yet. And so.. the tails are a wagging happily from the little one.

We haven't been up to much around here. Just lazing around and tails a wagging. du du duuu
Christmas is just round the next corner... and our tree is not up yet. Tails a wagging.. du du du

We don't get real christmas trees around here. The only real christmas trees are brought in by IKEA each year. Year in and year out, we'll drag out the old plastic tree.. put up the same ole decorations.. and maybe a few more new stuffs :) Are we a wee bit late for the christmas tree? I am probably too old and lazy for christmas this year... perhaps.

The only thing that is quite christmas around here is dad singing to his christmas carols.

My niece was around last week... and i torture her to do all the household chores.. *LOL* She even washed the pot for me one day. I bet she'll treasure her home more after this. But we did have a good time together.

She is a wonderful girl. She loves to bake and cook. And she wanted to make icing for cupcakes but i was too lazy. So she settled for colourful dots for her topping.

We made some cupcakes but stuffed all 16 of them in one tray... and all of them cakes overflowed and fight for space.
It was funny to see them overflowing like that. *LOL*

We went to see Narnia in the cinemas. It was in 3D. Like the old fool that i am.. this is the first time i saw a movie in 3D (where have i been all this time right?) *LOL* It was a nice movie with the kids.

Try taking pictures with a crummie phone in a cinema and you get darkness all around ;)
i have been taking pictures only with my crummie phone lately.. *LOL*

Piper had a bit of a tummy ache from lying on the cool floors everyday. A bit of wind got into his tummy and he was a poot pooting away.
Here he is feeling sick last week.

We would be going off on the road to Piper's home next week to celebrate christmas in Kuala Lumpur with my family till the new year.. (i think).

Hah! I hear fireworks outside? Hmmm... i wonder what was that for?

This year has gone by extremely fast... with a lot of changes. As change is always good, we are now slowing down now to catch up on our breath and prepare for the new year.

I never do resolutions to welcome the new year. Maybe when i was a kid, i probably did.. and forgot all about them by January. We should just be happy and live each day as it is our last. Keep good friends and family close and furry buddies closer. Do good and be nice to the little people... and it will be a wonderful year ahead. Own lesser things and live a simpler life.

Loads of money don't usually guarantee happiness. Having people around you and feeling that you belong and loved is a gurantee that you will have a fulfilling life.

ROOOARRRRR... i am the top dog!

I am still hearing fireworks now. Hmmm... someone smuggled in quite a bit of fireworks. Is it the new year already?
As we promised... we made our old man a wee bit happier today. We finally put up the christmas tree :) Shame on us for making our papa wait so long for the tree to be up.

He grinned. We shifted some furniture around the hall to fit in the tree :) The three of us scooted around here and there trying to look busy while cleaning up the mess. It has been raining the whole morning and almost whole afternoon too. None of our laundry got dried.

Dommy.. urmm.. Dommy did try to help. But his main job was to be the protector of our christmas tree. He got the best seat in the house now. He's awfully proud of that.

We are clearing up here.. and going on the road by Sunday. Hopefully i can wean off some internet time and snooze. I'm still expected in the office next week.

Our tree is just 5 feet (shorty) but its a "green tree" and it is recycled every single year. We are doing our bit for the environment :) Sustainable living. For every tree you chop off, plant a tree or two back.

Here are some shots. My hands are a bit shaky lately... urmm.. it has been shaky all this time i think.. hahahahhahaa.. plus i am always too lazy for tripods and flash.

The great protector of the tree snoozing on his job!

I'll Be Home For Christmas ~ Karen Carpenter

A song to boost up our Christmas spirits :)

I got something to own up now. Today's the 17th December... and our Christmas tree is not up. *LOL*

We are not going to be home for Christmas this year. But that's not really a valid reason not to put up the tree and make my old man happy. I'm just lazy. Really.

My batteries are finally depleted and i'm just bumming around these few days :) Its kinda fun just bumming around.

Every home needs an anchor. Mommies are always the anchor in a home. The anchor keeps everyone and everything in place. The anchor decides on things to be done for the home. The anchor keeps the home alive and filled with laughter.

We lost our anchor in 2007. Ever since then, we all keep going off somewhere for Christmas.. hahhahaa. We run away. Christmas reminded us too much of our anchor. Even last year, i put up the Christmas tree with only Dommy by my side. I scooted off too after that.

What is Christmas without a tree?

Well.. i hope to put up our Christmas tree tomorrow since Boy came back tonite. We always need a kid around when the tree is up. After our tree is up, we'll be going off on our road trip :)

Christmas is the only time of the year when i really take a break. We have our yearly shutdown and i hope to get some alcohol to drown myself... hahhahahaha Its been a while since i had a drink and i have been thirsty :D

Hopefully... i'll have a picture to share with you guys tomorrow of our tree... or any tree :D

Karen Carpenter was a wonderful part of my childhood memories :) We grew up listening to her quite a lot. She has such an angelic voice. May she rest in peace.

C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S - Jim Reeves

Christmas has always been special even when we were little. We don't have a christmas tree then but we still sing christmas songs each december and wait for good ole santa to come in the big big bus (yes bus! and not a sleigh) with the carolers from the church.

Santa will bring with him lotta sweets for the whole neighbourhood kids. Some younger kids will be so scared of santa somehow.. *LOL* Some years we get big big santas that go booming ho ho ho.. and on some years.. the santa's a bit thin. But we still love that part of christmas :)

The last time the carolers came to our house to sing was a few years back when mom was still around. They had a good time challenging the motion sensor reindeer toy that we hanged on the door. When they reached a higher pitch.. the "clapping motion reindeer" will go HO HO HO and break off into a christmas song on its own. The carolers sang louder and louder to set the reindeer off. Everyone had a good laugh and lotta fun that night.

Jim Reeves is very much a part of our Christmas. We only had that one cassette by Jim Reeves for christmas carols way back then. Every Christmas, Jim will come out from the drawers and sing again :) Jim was even in the car when we go out. I think i still kinda like his christmas carols.

Christmas is just round the next bend. Dommy and i will probably take leave soon here and be off on our Christmas break and hopefully wean off some internet time :)
Boxing Day is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and countries in the Commonwealth of Nations with a mainly Christian population. In South Africa, this public holiday is now known as the Day of Goodwill. It is based on the tradition of giving gifts to the less fortunate members of society. Contemporary Boxing Day in many countries is now a "shopping holiday" associated with after-Christmas sales. (read more here from Wikipedia)

Today is Boxing Day. A day after Christmas. From where i come from, Boxing Day is not known much. In my country, the day after Christmas, some folks would already be back to work. And for some other luckier folks, they would still be in a festive holiday mood and maybe planning another big bang bash for the New Year.

Well, my Boxing Day was quite alright. I went with Bebe J's folks to the park. After being here a week, i still have not walked to the park yet even though its just next door. Beautiful day as the sun was really bright. But as Bebe J's dad says, its kinda like a fake sun. Its not warm. Just bright and sunny.

Even when you hang your laundry out in the bright ole sunshine here, none of the clothes get dry. hahahhahaa.. kinda tickles me cos the laundry will be dancing on the clothes line.. out on the line for just a breather.. but we kinda have to put it in the dryer later. None of the laundry gets dry in the fake sun.

Today i got some beautiful shots of the park. I will put it up slowly but surely.

I saw some dogs at the park too. Kinda makes me smile when i see dogs. And i think of the ones i left behind... Dommy and Piper. Dogs and their funny antics. There was this grey small dog who keep coming back to me... and running back quickly to the owner. Kinda like a fast forward button dog. hahahahaha.. it just darts around.

This white doggie even jump on my lap to say hi when it passes by. Haha.. so cute.

A green head ducky. I don't know what kind of duck this is... but i only see wooden ones at home. People in my country like to buy wooden replicas of this ducky as decorative items for the house. But this duck is REAL. Wow! I am kinda like coming out from the bottom of a rock.

And this.. is the beautiful park. So peaceful and serene. Postcard picture perfect. I was so in awe when the birds took flight. So many things i have forgotten while in my mad rushed life back home. And this holiday without my bb and all my connections, made me realise that sometimes all the mad rush is not worthwhile. I found some parts of my life back. When i was young and carefree while being silly.

Hope you all enjoyed the pics. I took about 100 pics and some videos today. Haha.. Its dangerous to let me have a camera in my hands. Good thing is everything is digital. I'll show you all more the next time. Adios amigos.

Today is Christmas Day. Not too much happening yet. People over here celebrates Christmas morning by lying in and spending time at home with loved ones. Resting and taking a break from the norm of rushing for work and being in the hulabaloo of life.

I woke at 7am today. We have blue skies today. Beautiful blue skies. Sis said maybe we get some laundry done before baby comes.

Bebe J is still not here yet. Bet he is feeling warm and comfy in mama and decide to have some roast dinner for Christmas first before he comes. When he finally comes, he will only get to have milk and more milk. Smart kiddo.

Today we didn't have any contractions yet. Yesterday she had some mild contractions and we thought that maybe Bebe would be coming on Christmas day. Maybe it was just another bout of Braxton Hicks.

Hopefully Bebe will come soon. My time here is very limited. Another 2 weeks more and i'll be on my way home.

Everyone here seems to be giving a lot of suggestions to trigger birth. But sometimes, baby will come only when he's ready. Hope he don't take too long.

Christmas at home... i miss that too. I come from a very extended family. When Christmas comes along... there's a whole lot of people everywhere... in and out from the house. Every celebration, we do have a whole lot of people here and there... its almost impossible to talk and be heard cos everyone would be talking and no one would be listening. But its fun.

Here's our Christmas tree at home.

May everyone have a blessed Christmas and may all your wishes come true. May this Christmas brings lots of hope to the sick and the trying. And may everyone have a wonderful year ahead! Merry Christmas folks!
Dog eat dog food... we got a stern warning from our vet once. If you want a healthy puppy... let your dog eat his dog food. That was years ago. We got the stern warning from our vet when we took Piper to see him. Because we love Piper so much, we sometimes feed him practically what we ate too. And that became our downfall. He developed an itch.. and his skin condition got bad. That was when we got our DOG EAT DOG FOOD :)

This coming holidays, with a lot of people in the house and lots of guests coming, it is important to keep your pets safe. People are generous and sometimes sneak food/treats under the table for your pets. This could be harmful for your pets. A lot of pets do get sick over the holiday season because of food.

Here's a list of things to be careful and not to feed your pets. You can tell your guests too. Sternly but nicely... Please do not feed the pets. Its is dangerous and can be fatal.

Top 10 People Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Pets from ASPCA

1. Chocolate, Coffee, Caffeine
These products all contain substances called methylxanthines, which are found in cacao seeds, the fruit of the plant used to make coffee and in the nuts of an extract used in some sodas. When ingested by pets, methylxanthines can cause vomiting and diarrhea, panting, excessive thirst and urination, hyperactivity, abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures and even death. Note that darker chocolate is more dangerous than milk chocolate. White chocolate has the lowest level of methylxanthines, while baking chocolate contains the highest.

2. Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages and food products containing alcohol can cause vomiting, diarrhea, decreased coordination, central nervous system depression, difficulty breathing, tremors, abnormal blood acidity, coma and even death.

3. Avocado
The leaves, fruit, seeds and bark of avocados contain Persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhea in dogs. Birds and rodents are especially sensitive to avocado poisoning, and can develop congestion, difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation around the heart. Some ingestions may even be fatal.

4. Macadamia Nuts
Macadamia nuts are commonly used in many cookies and candies. However, they can cause problems for your canine companion. These nuts have caused weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors and hyperthermia in dogs. Signs usually appear within 12 hours of ingestion and last approximately 12 to 48 hours.

5. Grapes & Raisins
Although the toxic substance within grapes and raisins is unknown, these fruits can cause kidney failure. In pets who already have certain health problems, signs may be more dramatic.

6. Yeast Dough
Yeast dough can rise and cause gas to accumulate in your pet’s digestive system. This can be painful and can cause the stomach or intestines to rupture. Because the risk diminishes after the dough is cooked and the yeast has fully risen, pets can have small bits of bread as treats. However, these treats should not constitute more than 5 percent to 10 percent of your pet’s daily caloric intake.

7. Raw/Undercooked Meat, Eggs and Bones
Raw meat and raw eggs can contain bacteria such as Salmonella [ital] and E. coli [ital] that can be harmful to pets. In addition, raw eggs contain an enzyme called avidin that decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin), which can lead to skin and coat problems. Feeding your pet raw bones may seem like a natural and healthy option that might occur if your pet lived in the wild. However, this can be very dangerous for a domestic pet, who might choke on bones, or sustain a grave injury should the bone splinter and become lodged in or puncture your pet’s digestive tract.

8. Xylitol
Xylitol is used as a sweetener in many products, including gum, candy, baked goods and toothpaste. It can cause insulin release in most species, which can lead to liver failure. The increase in insulin leads to hypoglycemia (lowered sugar levels). Initial signs of toxicosis include vomiting, lethargy and loss of coordination. Signs can progress to recumbancy and seizures. Elevated liver enzymes and liver failure can be seen within a few days.

9. Onions, Garlic, Chives
These vegetables and herbs can cause gastrointestinal irritation and could lead to red blood cell damage. Although cats are more susceptible, dogs are also at risk if a large enough amount is consumed. Toxicity is normally diagnosed through history, clinical signs and microscopic confirmation of Heinz bodies. An occasional low dose, such as what might be found in pet foods or treats, likely will not cause a problem, but we recommend that you do NOT give your pets large quantities of these foods.

10. Milk
Because pets do not possess significant amounts of lactase (the enzyme that breaks down lactose in milk), milk and other milk-based products cause them diarrhea or other digestive upset.

Keep your buddies safe. And have a great holiday ;)

Tis the season to be jolly... falalalala lala la la (hope i got all the lala in)

Christmas is a coming *yehooooooooooooooooooooo*.. i can smell it right from the corner.. ... a season when we do MORE good than normal.. and give MORE than usual... and spend MORE for the ones we love... and a whole lot of other folks too.

Our lives would be more meaningful too... if we put others before ourselves... and give more so that people with less will have a reason to smile more often. It is also about giving back to society.

A season/time to take a break from work.. *phew* hopefully for a whole 2 weeks.. of just bumping around and rolling on the floor with your furfriends and of course with our loved ones too.

While we are doing good and spreading lotta cheer everywhere, do remember our furfriends and show you care.

The ASPCA does have a good selection of Holiday cards. You can see the pictures above.
Check them out at their online store here... http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=shop_home

Do give them your support. A little goes a long way. Every little effort saves a dog/cat each day.

I think i am going to just order some now :)
