- Listen patiently to what I have to say.
- Trust me, for I am always on your side.
- Play with me a lot.
- Don’t forget that I have feelings too.
- Let’s never fight, Cause someday, I’ll be big enough to win.
- If I don’t obey you, I have a good reason.
- You have school, and friends. But as for me, I only have you.
- Stay and be my best friend even when I’m old.
- I’ll only live about ten years, so let’s make every moment count.
- I’ll never forget our life together. So when my time comes, please be by my side.
Today my neighbour brought over an old movie for my dad to see. Yesterday, he told me he saw a very good movie which brought him to tears. He said he'll bring it over today. Bright and early today, it was already in my house.
The movie is called 10 Promises to My Dog (Inu to Watashi no 10 no Yakusoku). Its a Japanese movie which is dubbed in English. Its a pretty good movie which every dog lover would enjoy. Simple script but very touching. With the likes of Hachi: A Dog's Tale... & Marley and Me. These movies are very heartwarming.
Both dad and i watched the movie this afternoon. Both of us were reduced to cloudy eyes. It carries a deeper meaning closer to home. I won't tell you too much about the movie here. You go find it and watch it.. (its on youtube too.. shhhh)
Sometimes some of us do take our furfriends for granted. Some of us locked them up in toilets for hours because they were soiling the house or misbehaving. But did we try and understand them for a change.
I always have a weakness for Goldens. I haven't got to my golden yet :) But i do have a Curly Boo here. He is just as golden when the sun shines on him.
This is the trailer to the movie. Do watch it with your furry best friends :)
Remember this from our furfriends...
You have your world but i only have you.

You make some very good points there. We only have them for such a short time, we need to make that time the best it can be.
Sue
Morgan, Tsar and the Porties
Every moment counts :) We try our best to make each moment count.
Thanks for stopping by Sue :)
Their lives are way too short. They give so much and ask for so little in return. We owe them the attention they deserve.
So true Ann.. so true. If you need a good cry... check out this movie.. its a good one.
That is all so true. Great video and love the ten things. It is so true that every moment counts. Animals can teach us humans great things such as live in the moment, never mind tomorrow or yesterday
Have a great day.
You are right Marg.. they do teach us to live in the moment, never mind tomorrow or yesterday :) They teach us to be more human too most of the time... and about loyalty and patience :) Have a great day with your staff too!
We've been pondering the same thing as we contemplate Lilac's fifteenth birthday next month. The time sure flies!
i like those 10 promises very very much! me and asa and mama enjoyed the movie trailer...i wonder if it's on that netflix thingie?
*woof*
the booker man
Lilac's gonna be 15 soon? wow! She doesn't look a day 15 :) She's still as beautiful as ever..
its on youtube.. but i am not sure its the full movie.. urmm.. its an old movie.. probably u can download it on the net :D hopefully.. glad you are back Booker man and Asa :)
Those are all very true and I always try to make the most of each day with my furbabies because I know our time together is too short. I can't watch shows like that though because I am a major cry baby!
Great share - I'd never heard of this!
Stay and be my friend even when I am old - this is so sweet and so true. Too many older animals are abandoned in their older years ...
Your pal, Pip
I have to agree. They don't ask for much and are forever loyal, the least we could do is give them a great life :D
I'm sure you do... you are the best mommie Sadie could have and for Is and Angel too :) Sometimes its nice to watch tearjerkers and have a good cry.. :) our home was suddenly flooded.. hehehe
Thanks Neil... there was something like that... 10 commandments for dogs.. kinda like a poem. Its something similar to this movie.
Oh geez...just da trailor made my mum go furs da snot rags...her sentimental or mental...take your pick.
Mum thinks bouts dis often cuz Albert is 8 and Whitney is 9...I haves no idea what hers will do when ALbert goes to da bridge.
Fabulous post.
Puddles
I am glad you are at your forever home Pipster. So many senior dogs do get abandoned in their golden years ... just like some senior folks getting abandoned at hospitals here in my country.
Even though some are quite the princess... but she's loyal :) at least you saved her from her life in the toilet :) You are a good person Nick.
Our hooman girl here just went mental and had snots and urmm... stuffs coming outta her nose and eyes.. it was scary :)
8 and 9 is still young Puddles.. Whitney and Albert still have a long way to go yet. Tell your momma's not to worrys too much.. Enjoy every moment with you guys.

Thanks for sharing and reminding us all. People should go watch that movie! And listen! And learn!
I'm a little surprised it's a Japanese movie, though.
