I love this tee because there is an idiot outside taking this picture.

I am still at Piper's home. Over here there's loads of nice doggies to sniff and they always... always leave big big mails by the trees and on the roads. I get to check my mails every evening when my cow takes me for my walks.

I get extra tummy rubs and hugs more these days. I am not sure why but i kinda like them anyways.

My cow giving me tummy rubs when i nap

From my latest diagnosis and blood works from Piper's vet, i am now on

Oroxine for hypothyroidism
Steroids for my auto immune disease and tapered down slowly for this month
Antibiotics for suspected e.platys

We did an xray of my heart again. We have to stop the Fortekor in the meantime as the medicine will not go well with the steroids.

My cow cum my nurse aide is staggering my medicines throughout the day so that it will easier for me to cope. She is quite confused so she has all my medicine and timing all written on her book.

I seem to pee more and sometimes we pee in the early mornings. I did a big leak at 4.30am this morning. To avoid having big leaks accidents in the house, we go out early in the mornings and i get to leave the first mail for all the doggies in the neighbourhood. How cool is that. Sometimes Piper follows me and leaves a leak too. His mails always comes second.

SHE is watching me like a hawk for any side effects. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. But if the "watching like a hawk" comes with tummy rubs and hugs, i am okay with it.

Life With Dogs did a wonderful post on Canine Hypothyroidism. Do jump over to read about it if you want to be in the know about this condition.

Dommy
Its 6.20am here and i am awake with too many things running through up there :) The mind is wide awake but the body is begging for sleep.

We have been in the city for a week now. In Kuala Lumpur. Time sure moves way too fast over in the city. 24 hours is all gone in a sneeze.

We loaded the poor ole car with all of Boy's stuffs and the puters and the grandpa and two furries. For an old car, it sure can take a big load.

Boy is officially in university now. His dad sent him over to his new residence at campus on Wednesday. Compared to his old room in college last year, this is heaven sent. He only has to share the room with one other fella which is his friend from college. Both were so happy to be placed together that they we doing some funny dance when they saw each other. A good start to life at uni. All we worry about now is only him getting up in the mornings to attend lectures. Even the world's greatest alarm clock will not be able to wake him up. Hopefully his room mate will just pour some water on his face each morning to get him up.

I am currently working from my sister's house in a corner by the window where squirrels taunt me each morning. This squirrel runs up and down on a wall in the garden each morning. It stops momentarily to look my way.. then goes on its way. Once i saw a snake moved on that wall when i looked up. It sent shivers down my spine. Sometimes i see the magpies doing a dance or two on the wall too. Magpies are a usual feature wherever i go. I seem to see them everywhere. The wall facing the window where i work is like a mini stage show for all these creatures of nature.

Piper in his ducky bed. Sis got this for a steal at Chatuchak Market, Thailand.

We took Dom for a second opinion at Piper's vet last weekend. An innocent carride that ended at the V-E-T is not a very nice thing to impose on a furry. We met a very nice young vet who is most passionate about his work and his patients.

Some blood works were done. Quite a lot of blood were taken. Heartworm is ruled out. He has no heartworm. He has always been on Heartgard all the time that he is with us. But we just had to make sure for the 4 years that he was not with us. Another set of blood were sent to the lab for a complete blood works test.

He has thyroid. He also has a suspected autoimmune disease. Suspected because the Coombs test for canine is not available in our country. The rest of his blood works is fine. A lot of new big words for us to stomach and to check out. A good thing i got a pretty smart brother in law who is able to give me some answers to some questions. We are finally getting some answers on Dom. A better diagnosis this time.

Dom looking for squirrels in Piper's garden yesterday afternoon.

We are currently in Kuala Lumpur for these weeks because my sister just went for an op to take out the melon fibroid that was in her womb. How did the melon get in there. It was a Washington apple last year. This year it grew to the size of a melon. A common problem with women. Fibroids and stuffs.

Hospital runs are crazy in Kuala Lumpur. It took me an hour + to get to the hospital and another 45 mins to get back. Dad is bounced like a ball and left to the mercy of his daughters or whoever who is free to drive him around. He doesn't drive in Kuala Lumpur as the roads confuses him. He doesn't quite understand traffic and jams in Kuala Lumpur. We have been having hospital cafeteria food which is not quite so bad really. Through it all, dad is still in good moods and have been most patient with us.

A wonderful remote to annoy the patient.

Sis will be discharged today later in the afternoon. A bit more colour has got back on her face. She was weak and delirious the first two days as she was drugged to minimise the pain from the op. Now she's back to walking around and urmmm.. scolding people. She is easily ticked. *LOL* Easily agitated and irritated. I got to weather some storms from her soon.

I can't show you a pic of my sis on her hospital bed. She will most definitely kill me.
So i'll show you a pic of my shoes on her hospital bed frame.

We are so sorry we haven't been visiting so many of you. We will come around soon when life gets back to normality. Take good care all of you and catch up with you all soon.

Great Pretender - The Platters

Don't you just love oldies. They sing more about love and fun. The lyrics are more simple and true. And catchy.

I love oldies because i am an old soul. I love oldies because i grew up listening to all these songs but they were not oldies back then :) That kinda makes me old now :D

The Platters were and still remain one of my favourites.

My dad just got his ipad loaded with loads of oldies. He's been blaring the songs every single day and that kind of makes him happy. Someone has been very kind to share all their oldies with him. Now he's more occupied with singing. He won't get up to answer the phone and he won't get up to answer the door. So try calling him now. *LOL*

To be at his age, life can get a bit lonely. He sends me and my siblings emails everyday even though he's just sitting in the hall. He forwards a lot of funnies, thought provoking things and gentle reminders sometimes.

Here's one of the gentle reminders he sent yesterday which i think that i should share it here with all of you. Its a very long poem. I am sure some of you would have stumbled on it before.

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses?
. . . . . . . What do you see?
What are you thinking
. . . . . . . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man,
. . . . . . . not very wise,
Uncertain of habit
. . . . . . . with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food
. . . . . . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice
. . . . . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice
. . . . . . . the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . . . . . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not .. . . . . . . . . . . lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding  . . . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?  . . . . . .  Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . . . . you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am . . . . . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . . . . . . . with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . . . . . . who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen
. . . . . . . with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now
. . . . . . . a lover he'll meet
A groom soon at Twenty
. . . . . . . my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows
. . . . . . . that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now
. . . . . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide
. . . . . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . . . . . With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young son
. . . . . . . have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me
. . . . . . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more,
. . . . . . . Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children
. . . . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me
. . . . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future
. . . . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing
. . . . . . . young of their own.
And I think of the years
. . . . . . . And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man
. . . . . . . and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age
. . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles
. . . . . . . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone
. . . . . . . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass
. . . . . . . A young man still dwells,
And now and again
. . . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys
. . . . . . . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living
. . . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years all too few . . . . . . . gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . . . . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people . . . . . . . . open and see.

Not a cranky old man. Look closer. . . . . . . see. . . . . . . ME!!

My dad is quite a cranky old man too. On some days, i actually tune out. Mentally drained. But its not so bad nowadays. I've learnt to cope and he has learnt not to be too cranky on me... sometimes.

Try watching the news on tv with him. He'll curse and swear at all the government issues in the country *LOL*. You do not know whether to laugh or cry or just run to another room. Try driving with him in the backseat. You'll wish you can just stop the car in the middle of traffic and run out. For every other thing, he will find some negative thing about it.

But when i get too quiet, he will worry. *LOL*

My dad buys me breakfast every morning after his walks. He bought a whole lot of ham and bacon when he saw that i was so sad when Dom was not eating. He told me... give him some ham. Dom will surely eat ham. He folds all the clothes in the house after the laundry. He wipes my car all the time. He buys me food when i am sick.

How can i be angry with my cranky old dad. They might be cranky most of them time. But i guess if i am at his age and have aches and pains everywhere and with no one to talk to except Dommy and Piper... i could be cranky too.

Be nice to your old folks and if they get too cranky and grumpy, just tune out if you cannot take it. Don't pick fights with them. Don't hurt them with words. Silence is always the better weapon. Its funny. When i am silent, people are always afraid. ^.^

Dom is getting much better. Still wearing his road construction orange top. Still sleeps a lot. But he is eating more. Still loves chicken stew and raw fish. Still handfed. I think he just likes the idea of handfeeding.

Some people say that i should stop handfeeding him and just let him eat on his own or starve. They say that he will eat eventually when he's hungry. I only have one Curly. I don't think i can get to heartless yet. He must eat.. and be well first. He does have springs on his legs again :D

Hello there :) This is me. Mr P at the puters. Since the Curly and the cow is busy with stuffs, i guess it is up to me to get the blog moving. Some updates for you guys.

Lemme see.. how about a cute picture first.

Ain't this guy the cutest furry on the block. *ahem*

I mean... did i get your attention yet? I was a trying to get your attention first you see. Now... look into my beautiful eyes and say... all together now... oooooOOOOHHHH.. ain't Piper the cutest fella on the block.

Don't mind my messy self. SHE was too LAZY busy to give me a bath. SHE said i still smell nice. I am a mess. But hey... who likes baths anyways. I don't. That's for sure. Anyhow.. here's me on my evening walks. Check out my cute pink tongue and the flowers or flower.

This is what i do best other than picking fights with all the doggies in the neighbourhood. You can't just mark one. You have to mark them all.

Tire christening is a must do. All the tires and the lamp poles along the route have to be checked and marked. I do take my job seriously but SHE says i am just wasting my time and taking too long on walkies. The rain will just wash it all away SHE says. But what does SHE know. She does not have the ultra super sonic noses we furries do.

Here's the curly in his silly orange shirt. He finally had a bath after close to a month. *phew* But poor guy's been sick for so long. SHE only dared to give him a bath yesterday when it was really warm and sunny. Straight after the bath, Curly had to don the silly orange shirt.

I think Curly's all well now. He is just milking the cow. The cow is so silly as to believe that the Curly has to be handfed all the time. All the time i tell you. I can see from the corner of my eyes that the Curly is just pulling a fast one on the cow.

SHE just found out that Curly has a strange liking for raw fish. Maybe Curly's been mixing around with them kitteh kats too much or perhaps Curly is a Japanese in his past life. Curly also develop a liking to chicken stew. SHE was so happy that Curly loves something that she quickly cooked a small pot of stew with no salt just for the Curly... and me. Our stew consists of carrots, potato and glorious chicken. There's also a cob of corn in the pot to make the soup nicer.

I think Curly looks like those workers at the construction site in his orange shirt. Don't you think so? SHE bought it cheap in Thailand. It just cost 3 bucks for the orange shirt.

Curly has started going back on his walks. Short slow walks. He walks like an old man now. Even grandpa called him old man just now. Curly thinks he looks awesome and handsome in his orange shirt. He even had a small spring in his legs.. kinda like he is proud to be out walking in his orange shirt. But i think people will just think he is just one of the road construction crew. *BOL*

Okay.. i think i should not be mean to my orange brother. He looks a wee bit cute in orange.

But surely not as cute as me. Yes. SHE bought the same cheapo 3 bucks shirt for me too. But in yellow.

All these blogging is just too hard work for a small furry like me. I'll take a nap now. See you all tomorrow :)

*woof & licks*
