Description:
This is a picture of my papa. He was very sad when this photo was taken. It was after mom's passing and we were at our yearly trip to St Anne's. He is better now.. and coping and learning to live on his own again.
My other buddies who have done this tag are... Emila, Spiff the Spaceman, Bem, Mariuca (do check their photos out) I won't be tagging anyone. Whoever who have a great bw photo to share, please feel free to do this tag :)
One of those weird times of the year when i just stare at the screen and wonder what am i doing... hahaha.. Virtually always available. But my heart is somewhere else.
One of my aunts... i think she has asked me this few times over the span of few years. I never did give her an answer. Cos it was a stupid question to begin with. And if i did answer her, i would disrespect her which i am not allowed to do.
She asked with a serious face, do you think artists are with one screw loose? Stupid question eh? Do i look like i have one screw loose to you? I wanted to answer.. not one screw loose. I have many screws loose. Dang! haha.. Maybe next time... i'll give her a brilliant answer if she asked me again.
Maybe all my screws are starting to fall off.
A trying week.. trying to forget and trying to remember all at the same time. Same thing with my sisters in their own corner of the world.
The only thing that is keeping my screws still on and screwed is... probably my dog. Dommy is with me 24/7. I hug him when i am sad.. and he seems to understand. Sometimes he licks my nose to comfort me. He accompanies me when i run short errands at night. Like a little curly bodyguard. Sitting straight up and growling at suspicious characters. hahahahaha.. It is a sight. Sometimes he growls at motorbikes that look suspicious parked beside me at traffic lights.
Ever willing to go out with me. Even when he's dead tired. He will still jump 2 feet high when he sees me grabbing my bag.
I guess thats unconditional love. The unconditional love that most would search for but few have known that it can only be found from a furry friend.
I don't really know what i am babbling and writing about tonite. hahahahaa.. Please forgive my nonsensical moments. Goodnite folks :)
Goodnite Emi.. thanks for the entertainment and coffee+popcorn at http://www.emilayusof.com/ I always have fun there. Even at shoutmix boxes.. hahaha.. Sometimes virtually available buddies are not bad too :)
Today is JUST AS WARM AS YESTERDAY! But wait.. i hear thunder... :D lemme go out and check for a minute...
oooooooooooooooooooOOOOOooo... indeed dark clouds... wowwheeeeeeeeeee.. never have i been so happy to see rain. I think both Dommy and i gonna go out with our shampoos and just shampoo ourselves out in the garden in the rain... as long as the thunder don't strike us both first. Hmm... considering the fact that i am taller than Dommy.. i might just get fried in the garden itself ;)
My brain is fried. Most of the time its not there in the first place. hehhehee
Today i have a most unusual conversation with a buddy. *LOL* We were both discussing poo again :) I am the poo master beeeeeeeeeeeecos i have lotta questions about poos. I check my doggies poo everyday too in the garden to check on their health. I better explain myself before all of you start to throw-up... I mean.. not poking and going through the specimen... its just a quick look before i dispose of them hahhahahaha
The usual questions about our poo conversations would be..
1) Are they floaters or sinkers?
2) What color did you get today?
3) What's the stench rating?
It usually comes up pretty interesting and usually we will end up laughing.
When you can share poo stories with some people.. you know they will be great friends. I guess some of you would be now with mouths open and cannot believe what you are reading now... hahahahaha
My friends.. (very close ones) the bunch of us... were on a bus to KL a long time ago... as usual, young girls with nothing better to do on a bus... we decide to trade poo & fart stories.. hahhahahaa.. we actually had a very interesting and informative talk for 4 long hours. Most of the people on the bus couldn't believe their ears and were probably pissed with us. But who cares. We were young ;) We are allowed to have silly conversations and giggle like a bunch of hyenas.
My office mates, we do discuss poo stories too... hahhahahahaa.. How i miss that. Usually it would be our artists department at the back of the office. We trade poo stories quite often actually. Right Esther? hehehhehe.. I would usually shoot her a question like.. floaters or sinkers...? when i see her walk back from the loo.. with a straight face.. she will go.. floaters.. cos i had some sesame seed yesterday. And both of us will break off in laughter. I really miss those moments.
Some "refined" office mates like Anne will go.. SHUT UP! Don't be gross.. hahhahahahaha.. How gross can that be? We do this every single day.
Now.. when my office mates call me in the morning, they will ask me.. what's taking you so long to answer the phone. Then i will answer.. i was making chocolate cake. Then they will go.. wowwheeeeeeeeeeeeee.. really? When are you coming to the office again? Bring us some chocolate cakes laaa.. Then i will go.. err.. i was making "those chocolate cakes" in the loo. *lol* That will send them into YUCKS! SHUTUP! And that would be my highlight of the day.
Do you discuss poo with your loved ones? :)
This post really does show how shallow and fried my brain is lately.. hahahhahahaa.. but i do really make a pretty good chocolate mud cake. The real one i mean :D Baked ones.. real ones.. hhahahaha
I don't really know how to tell you both this, I’m joining the Convent. I think I realized it when your dog humped my leg under the bus and I saw you pull the pants off of the elephant in the corner. I'm sure you're cowardly enough to understand that I get turned on only by garbage men. I'm returning your couch cushions to you, but I'll keep my common sense as a memory. You should also know that I told in my confession today about the moose poaching and your cucumber-fetishism is weird.
With tears of sadness,
Anny
Okkkkkkkk... i did laughed and enjoyed myself while doing this tag... errr.. but... err.. nevermind.. hahhahaa..
I dun know who to tag... as i have seen this in a lot of people's blog already.. just waiting for Bem to do this tag... err.. mebbe when Bain comes back... he would like to do this too.

Angels Among Us ~ Alabama
Today my papa came back from Novena and told me that Father Rudy ask them to look for the above song on Youtube... because its a great song. It is a very meaningful song.
Sometimes when we go visit my mom at the church, there's this man who will always ask for a dollar or two. Sometimes people will give it to him... sometimes not. Sometimes people run quickly because he smells of liquor. I believe if we are not going to give, we should not judge him. I guess he was just looking out for angels among us too.
Today i drag my papa all over town at 1pm in the afternoon to test out his camera. We went from old town to new town to church and everywhere. We came back a few shades darker.. hahhahahaha.. but i guess he was happy.
At least now he knows how to use his camera. I was nagging.. err.. i mean.. not nagging.. err.. just talking.. hhahahaa.. telling my papa.. if you are not going to try to use the camera, it will gather moss. hahhahaha.. I mean.. if you are not going to test the camera, when you want to take pictures.. u won't know how to use it. And yada yada yada.. hahhahahaa.
But next time we go in the mornings for our photography outings. We were sweating a storm and it was a very very warm day today.
In life, when we lose our way or direction, we are sent angels in many forms. Sometimes it could be the doggy down at your feet who wags their tail at your every move. Sometimes it could be just a total stranger who gives a kind word. And sometimes its just friends you've never met but they appear all the time in your virtual world. With words of encouragement and smiles.
Today, Marzie posted a sad story about Mufasa (LJ's cat) who passed away. To some people, they would just say, its just a cat. Or.. its just a dog. But to people like us who love animals, they are our life.. and a good part of our life. Our pets are our angels when we are weary.
May you rest in peace Mufasa.
I need some sunnies Anny. Today is Xtremely Xtra HOT... i think i am melting kilos by the minute. I am sweating under my thick curly furry self. In the heat of the evening sun, she still takes so many pictures of me. She was testing grandpa's camera. She says i look great in the sun and it gives a nice tinge to my champange colour. I think grandpa's camera is pretty cool too.
Anny decided to call me Curly today. She never calls me that before. Kinda got me confused suddenly. Boy told Johnny that i might have cataract. Cos i am always barking at the same people that comes to the house. But i am just being careful. I got to take care of my family and their safety. Its better to bark and let them be aware that someone is coming.
I think PP is coming back next week. Yehoo Yehooooooooooo... someone to bark with me and someone to run with me in the garden. And yes... more food for me. Somehow when the little guy is back... we have more varieties for dinner. I think Anny loves him more. Hmmmm.. and i am so loyal to her. Ahh.. nevermind. She has enough love to go around. I am sure she loves me just as much.
By the way.. what is cataract? Is it some carrots in a rack?
The aircon is finally on... i better go catch my 40winks. Goodnite ma furry friends :)
love,
Curly
While i was away hiding in my cave with Dommy, i have been testing a few things... and sleeping and reading a lot too. Sleeping and reading tops the tests of course. Its too warm in the afternoons...a constant 33 degrees (my eyes just keeps closing).
This whole week was like living in a hotpot. I think i lost a few kilos just sweating away. Bathing few times a day don't help much because you start sweating the minute you step out from the loo.
Anyways... i tried tilt shifting this week with photoshop. Its kinda cool because the pictures looks like miniature faking :D i posted two more on the boomoohoo.
Here's a tutorial from youtube.
"Tilt-shift" actually encompasses two different types of movements: rotation of the lens relative to the image plane, called tilt, and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane, called shift. Tilt is used to control the orientation of the plane of focus (PoF), and hence the part of an image that appears sharp; it makes use of the Scheimpflug principle. Shift is used to change the line of sight while avoiding the convergence of parallel lines, as when photographing tall buildings.
In many cases, "tilt-shift photography" refers to the use of tilt and a large aperture to achieve a very shallow depth of field. (courtesy from Wikipedia)
While on my quest for the Ayama, I found something green along the way.. hehehe
Hello peeps, just a short break from my cave dwelling :) I kinda miss all of you suddenly... err.. all the time too. The wifi in the cave only allows me to twit and twit on my faithful berry. My constant never-ending rants of life. Where else can i offload my rants but here on Piper's Kingdom.
Some of you would have seen this jolly green guy before... that is if you are or have been to Blue Earth, Minnesota.
And why do i love this green sexy guy in a leafy tunic? Ain't the boots super cool? hehehehe I wish they have these boots in my size too.
I love this green guy because i love corn. And one of the best corn in a can that i love is from him.
The issue of the green giant came along because my baby sister just called and ask me some stuffs about salads.. and i told her to pop a can of corn in it too. It kinda gives a sweet taste to the salads and what is salad without corn :D I told her.. but it must be ONLY Green Giant Corn. Then she said.. but i am in Tesco.. not Giant (Giant is another supermarket in Malaysia). Then i laughed and laughed... i told her deyyyyyyyyyy... Green Giant Corn laa.. the can has a Green Giant on it.. *lol*
And so... here i am... posting about the Green Giant which i love. Once upon a time, this can of corn did return some sanity to a very homesick friend ;)
Now i gotta run, crawl, scoot back to my cave. Dommy is waiting. We are gonna go hunt for some spiders for Stormy. The niblets are supa supa supa doopa nicerrrrrrrrrrrrrr :D
The Jolly Green Giant is a symbol of the Green Giant food company of the United States, appearing as a smiling green-skinned giant wearing a tunic, wreath and boots made of leaves. In 1973, JGG teamed up with "Little Green Sprout", the diminutive young green giant. Created by Leo Burnett, the Giant first appeared in advertisements in 1928; the name originally came from a variety of unusually large pea called the "Green Giant" that the company canned and sold. (more on Wikipedia)
This is beginning to sound like lotta fun for Dommy and I.
The reason for this short hiatus started from the day i blogged about My Daily Obsession. Suddenly it hit me that i am spending way too much time in front of the computer and on this blog that i am beginning to think that my hamster Pinko is REAL. *LOL* I really should get out there and touch some people and get a real life and real hamsters too... hahhahahahaha
Thank God i have Dommy. He's real.. that's for sure. Cos i just poke him and he went "oww"
I just need a tiny break... and just hibernate in some caves in Ipoh. My hometown is famous for many most beautiful caves. Ipoh sits on a valley and we have mountains and hills surrounding us like a surround sound system! Cool eh? If you love caves, come visit Ipoh... and check out all their caves. Don't forget the camera :)
Both Dommy and I are just gonna find a nice cool cave and just hibernate for a week for two.. hahhahahahaha.. we are both just lazy bums!
Meantime... if you (reside in Malaysia) and would love to have a super cool tee-shirt... don't forget to visit Yunus Ismail's blog. He's having a competition till the 25th April 2009. He's looking for a tagline for his Little Lab Design. Check him out ya!
Click here to join his contest.
Let's go Dommy. Oh.. forget your bed will ya... we don't need extra baggage. We got to go find some Ayama too.
CU guys after about 12. Don't be notty and be charmingly happy ;) Ciao!
I couldn't live without your love ~ Petula Clark
When you have to work alone, it is sometimes extremely quiet in the dead of the night. So you plug on your headphones and off you are in another world (without disturbing the whole neighbourhood and sound like a crazy nut singing in the middle of the night).. hehhehee
Oldies and my Papa's Songs seems more fun to listen to and they are simpler and easier to sing along :) Sometimes i need some other genre of music depending on what work is at hand.
Hope you all like Petula Clark. She was a blast during her time :)

Give me a chance
In your wonderful world
Open your hearts
To get to know me
If I could talk
I would have asked
If you can understand me
I wouldn't be called a puppy
But I am just a puppy
If i knew there are boundaries
I wouldn't have gone where i am not supposed to
If i knew you didn't like me
I wouldn't have come close
I am but just a puppy.
I read a pretty sad story on Yasmin's blog today. Cruel world.
If animals can communicate with us, they wouldn't be called animals in the first place. If they knew about boundaries, i wouldn't be human and it wouldn't be dog.
I sometimes wonder what kind of rage goes into a person's head for him to commit such ruthless crime on innocent God's little angels. I am deeply saddened by the human race. Even though its just an animal, it breathes life and its life is not for you to take.
May the killer find the peace within himself to continue the rest of his life.
Right in front of me there was these 2 young couple. One couple was sitting extremely close to each other (get a room la.. hahahhahahaha)... the girl was flicking her hair, seductively to her boyfriend. Kinda like trying very hard to be seductive. *LOL* These kind of actions always cracks me up when girls try too hard to be sexy, they end up looking ridiculous. But that's not it.
She was holding a pair of chopsticks. And licking the chopsticks like it was some crummy lollipop. Dang! She was licking and turning the chopsticks like there was a spot of honey on the chopsticks. I sat with my mouth open :o amazed.. and tickled.
Then i looked at her chopsticks... it was blue. I looked at mine... it was the same blue too. I swallowed my saliva hard. That really puts me off. She was still licking and licking the chopsticks. *LOL*
Her boyfriend was eating a plate of noodles. After her spot of continuous licking, she jams her chopsticks in his food. Dang! That's really unhygenic. But i guess the boyfriend don't really mind.. hahhahahhahaa.. Young people in love.
I should probably mind my own business and concentrate on my own food. But the thought of the same blue chopsticks really puts me off my own food.
That's soft porn on a sunny day. Next time i'll just pack my food back.
Would you share your food with your other half if they were licking and licking their chopsticks continuously before that? hahhahahahaa.. i'll probably just give it to him to eat instead.
Once i had a friend who would just jam his chopsticks or fork into other people's food. I hated that. If you are not my other half or my family members, don't go jamming your utensils into my plates. Its only common courtesy.
Call me a hygenic freak but today's free show was just too much to stomach on a beautiful Saturday.
Hope that Spiffy would lend me his Hot Site to rant on further.
They are looking for an awesome tagline for their e-shop which would be opening for business soon.

Oh no! Only four left.. hehehehehe
This is one of the most deliciously made bread from Gardenia. A lot of us bread lovers are rushing to 7-Eleven and grabbing these breads off the shelf like they are free. *lol* It finishes so fast... even before you can blink your eyes.
I can even finish a whole loaf all by myself while watching tv. Boy and i would go to 7-Eleven... like going on a secret mission. I drop Boy.. he runs in.. grab a loaf.. pay it and runs out smiling broadly. If i don't see a smile on his face.. means mission failed. No more Butterscotch bread. Dang!
If he comes out with a huge smile... aha! Mission accomplished. We grab the bag and open it quickly and devour it instantly like a bunch of loonie tunes.. *LOL* Its like a fix. Fix on a bread. hahahahaha.. You have to try.. that is if you love butter. Even Dommy loves this. One loaf is sure never enough to go around.
Hmm.. my wicked mind have a great idea suddenly. Since there are only four left... both Dommy and i will just eat it all since everyone is asleep. No saving the best for last.
My blogger buddies who loves Gardenia Butterscotch to0... Bem69, Mariuca (read about their Butterscotch experience too)
I bet they are munching on the breads too now.. :) Maybe we can start a Geng of Butterscotch bread soon. Goodnite folks! Have a great weekend ahead.

When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy,
And the dimpling stream runs laughing by;
When the air does laugh with our merry wit,
And the green hill laughs with the noise of it;
(part of Laughing Song ~ William Blake)
You see this guy above? I got him from aBowman.
The name aBowman stands for Adam Bowman. A freelance programmer who lives in Hallowell, Maine. Check out his website above. Most of the gadgets he create are very cute and lively.
And what about the Daily Obsession you may ask? I have this hamster on the right panel of my blog here. I have a daily obsession to feed the little guy. *lol* And makes sure he drinks his water too. After he's fed, he runs on his wheel and then he sleeps. Urmm.. not too sure if its a he/she.. *LOL*
I think i am spending wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much time on the computer. hahhahahahahhaaaa But thanks to Adam Bowman, i love my blog because it has a real little life running here :) Its alive its aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
i better go take a break and lie on the floor with Dommy now. Its crazily hot today. I am melting like butter. Ciao!
Thank you Bain. This is very beautiful. I am a fan of William Blake.
I didn't know you love poetry too. I don't write my own poetry but i love to find them and keep them. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.
And now we pay tribute to my HDR buddy :)

MORNING
To find the Western Path
Right thro' the Gates of Wrath
I urge my way;
Sweet Mercy leads me on:
With soft repentant moan
I see the break of day.
The war of swords & spears
Melted by dewy tears
Exhales on high;
The Sun is freed from fears
And with soft grateful tears
Ascends the sky.

A blackened sky
Learned a bit
Riding the bumps
Coming through the darkness
Seeking a few perfect moments
Giving thanks to the chaos for the gifts it brings.
Emotions can be a nuisance
But its nice when the work is done.
I remember
There are no perfect lives
Only perfect moments.
~ Catherine Fenwick
This is one of the poems i shared with my mom on one of her Mother's Day many years ago. She kept the card till she passed on. Now she is still keeping the card with her... in her new home.
When we get past the grieving period over our loved ones, it is good to remember the perfect moments. Especially on anniversaries, i would only like to celebrate her life and remember the happy times.
Remember not to look for perfect lives. We are all never will ever be perfect. We are born with flaws. The flaws are what make us all unique in our own ways.
Goodnite folks :) TGIF... YehooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOoooo
So.. first time Bain Cardin of the famous Bain's Fever tag me... i'll have to respect his wishes and honour his tag. *ahem*
1. "tampal gambar korang" (post your picture)
2. "explain kenapa korang pakai baju dalam gambar tersebut" (explain why you are wearing the clothes in the picture..)
Err.. why ka? because its my favourite tee and i really don't have many clothes here. Most of my clothes still in Kuala Lumpur. *lol*
My apologies to Bain, Emi and Diya. *lol* I don't have many pictures taken of myself. Only maybe about less than 10. And i am too shy to face all of you. Maybe if i do a facelift and a nose job and a complete makeover... by october... i'll gather enough courage to face the world :D hehehehheheee..
lowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww self esteem *lol*
ooppps! I forgot to tag others... In the true spirit of Bain's Fever... i'll tag my friends below :)
this is how i look from the front view...
how to face all of you if i have a face like this ;p
i have a face only a mother and a moo will love.. hehehe
Boy's 5 mins of fame with his two uncles and friends from school. Ha! Can you see Boy? He's the one with the golden hair :)
Breakin' Up Is Hard To Do ~ Neil Sedaka
This song does not bring breaking up sob stories to me but it kind of brings very happy memories.
When i was in my final year in college, during the late nights of slogging and doing all the final pieces for our presentation, i listened to this song over and over again. Sometimes whole nights.
My neighbours might be thinking i was going through some serious heartbreak.. *lol* But i was listening to it over and over again because i wanted to use it as a teaser for my so-called "product". In the end... i didn't manage to squeeze in the teaser.. hahhahahaa.. i got too ambitious with my project.
I still listen to this song quite a lot.. *lol* and dang! My neighbours would be thinking i am just an ole idiot still trying to get through a heartbreak :D
I'll play it loudly now... about ten times.. and then... tomorrow.. i'll go in the garden and put on my best sob face. The things i do to entertain myself. Where's Stormy when i really need a partner in crime.
Sis called yesterday and talked to Papa. While they were talking, Hann decided to join into the conversation and gave a bigger holler.. hahhahahahaaa.. Soon they have to cut short their conversation because my father cannot hear my sis well with Hann joining in the conversation too.
Papa said he sounded like a trumpet. *LOL* He cries very loudly for a little one. hehehehe.. Remember this Hann, grandpa said you sounded like a big trumpet yesterday. We will buy you a trumpet when you come back. So you will give mummy and daddy a big big earful. *LOL* Maybe a trumpet after your terrible twos.
But my Tuesdays are a bit different.
I am lazy bum... and never an early riser. I love to sleep in until about 8am or a +- of about 15mins more sometimes if i don't have to do any marketing :) The the good life rite? hehehee
Tuesdays. I have to wake up at 6.55am.. *lol* And why 6.55am to be exact? So that i will have a good 10mins to brush my teeth and spruce up before Aini comes.
Aini comes to help me clean the house on Tuesdays. She has been helping our household for quite a long time. Ever since i was a kid, i remember she comes to iron our clothes. A few years ago, mom re-hired her and she helps her to clean the house.
She's a wonderful lady. Sometimes while she's doing the cleaning... we chat a lot. She tells me some things about our garden and how mum asked her where to plant the hibiscus. She tells me about her kids and everything around her too. I like her presence on Tuesdays because she is a very kind lady. She works very hard to put food on her table. Before she comes to my home, she goes very early to another house to wash clothes. That's how hard life is for her.
I usually don't mind how she cleans the house. As long as someone is helping me to keep the house in order, i don't watch her like a hawk.. hahhhahahaha.. She knows what to do and i just help her to lift all the stuffs. On Tuesdays, i do some bits of gardening too (but my fingers are not green)... cos on any other day.. i will be snoozing away. hhahahahhahahaa.. Yes i am super lazy.
Her dream is to have her own house and to do her pilgrimage to Mecca one day. I am sure she will make it to Mecca one day. God willing. Without her to help me, my house here would be like Sahara Desert :D
Sometimes i wonder why the poor is still very poor in my country while the rich are getting richer and greedier. But that's life. Don't forget the little people.
This is Aini's ride to work :) She tells me this old bicycle... even though its old.. its super fast. She was telling me that she bought a newer bike but it seems to be slower by halftime. This is a relic on its own. Nice ah?
You Make Me Feel Brand New ~ Simply Red
For all the times you listen to all my rants... hehehehe and for all the times that you stood by me in all my dreams. Thank you for today.
This is the latest test on HDR after following a tutorial by a fellow blogger friend... Yunus Ismail. You can download his free tutorial on HDR but its in Bahasa Malaysia. Thanks again Yunus. Your tutorial is simply easy to follow. And the effects were more intense. I love it.
If you love photography, this is one of the very fun photo-editting effects with Photoshop. I have been having this fever for over a month now. Still burns on.
Have fun trying.
Here i was happily jumping into grandpa's car... then they ask me to come down and go into Anny's car. I was grinning and grinning non-stop as i thought that i was going for car rides or maybe to visit grandma at the church.
Little did i know that i was going to Dr Teo for my yearly jab :o
When we got nearer to Dr Teo's clinic... i kinda sense something was not quite right. I sit up straight and start to shiver. I hate vet visits even though Dr Teo is nice.
Dr Teo checked my nails and clipped them nicely for me. And he checked my ears and my whole body too. He says that i still have some itch. Must be from my rollovers on the grass in the garden in the afternoons when Anny is collecting the clothes. I better cutback on my rollovers as the grass sometimes gives me an itch.
He also said to Anny to not give me Beef... as beef will give doggies like me with "not so good skin conditions" a bad itch. He somehow said that chicken was alright. But the petshops said that chicken is no good. They are all very contradicting. Confusing Anny all the time. Maybe she'll turn me into a vegetarian soon and just give me tofu. Dang! I love my meat.
Thank god i didn't have to get a crew cut again. Just when i am going to be pretty handsome all over again. I know the doggie next door is having her eyes set on me ;)
Happily i went home with Anny after a 10mins stopover at Dr. Teo. I was grinning all the way home. Don't forget your distemper jabs. They are very important.
Now i am having a pretty good temper :) Woof! I'm gonna take a nap now. Need more than 40 winks after the jab.
love,
Dommy

I visited mom yesterday. Yellow lillies this time. The uncle florist was very nice. He did a very nice bouquet for just 10 bucks. Today i didn't go, as it was Easter. I hardly go with my father to church. Usually i go alone when there's less of a crowd to just visit my mom beside the church. I am not a Catholic but i believe there's a God. Mom and Dad are Catholics.
I don't like to go church especially on Mother's Day. Cos i don't like the feeling that i don't have one anymore. And they usually play these songs that make you really sad inside. I am just strong on the outside. I am like a cookie crumble inside.
Chinese believes when the dearly departed leaves this world, they come back sometimes as butterflies or moths. That's what grandma tells me when i was little.
And true enough, on some anniversaries of grandma and grandpa... we usually see a black moth in the house.
Today, i saw two fleeting images of a black & brown butterflies/moths. In a way, it sort of kept my heart happy that mom is back. It was just very random... and i just caught the sight of the moth at a restaurant.. and when i was standing outside the house.
I know she'll be back for a visit somehow. Everybody has their own way of dealing with their feelings of their dearly departed. I just like to deal with it my own way.
My papa... he loves to play all her favourite songs... especially on these anniversaries.
I don't like to talk about how my mom passed away anymore. People still want to ask why and why. That sometimes anger my father. Usually i try and changed the subject when he's angry with these people. When a person is dead, let her rest in peace. Asking about the whys and hows are never going to bring them back. If you want to a filial son or daughter, do it when they are alive. Not when they are dead and long gone. That's my take on life. Live life with less regrets.
This poem is a very meaningful one.
Be now forever taken from our sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind..."
They are around us
Giving us shelter and shade
Passing beauty
Without a second glance?
I once knew a man.. a long time ago who just loved trees. He spent most of his time driving around in his ole trusty car with a sketchbook. When a tree caught his eyes, he'll stop his car beside the road and start sketching. Sometimes small and fast sketches. But sometimes very elaborate pieces.
My memory fails me with names. I think his name is Mr. Chan. He was a loner. He was one of my fine art lecturers.
He used to be married before and had beautiful girls. But not anymore. He walks with a limp and drives an ole ole car. His car was tired like him.
Most of the students did not actually like his way of teaching. They don't see the sense of going out and sitting in a field sketching and drawing trees. But that's what fine art and field trips are about. A bunch of us were close to him. We were like his daughters, he took us here and there in his trusty ole car to look for things to sketch and many more trees too.
Once he took us back to his house to look at his work. I think he hardly have any guests in his home. He was ashamed of the clutter but we were so amazed by the amount of sketch books all over his house. Paintings everywhere. His whole house was like a big studio. The roof of his house was almost falling over. He had this huge sticks to hold the roof up.
An artist life is almost always very lonely. To produce great work, sometimes they have to keep very lonely lives. Sometimes its not a matter of choice.
I don't know what happen to Mr. Chan since i left college and move to the city. Maybe i'll bump into him again one day. I would love to browse through his sketch books of the trees again. It was really wonderful. An insight into the beauty of the trees.
Each time i pass a tree like the above picture, i am reminded of the great man and his trees. Maybe he wasn't great to many but he left me with deep memories of his beautiful sketches. I can still recall his sketches in my mind.
My father is a teacher and teaching don't really pay that much. And if you have a family to support, its really not that easy for him to cough up that extras on that month to buy me something just for a subject in college. It was a very expensive subject.
Art college is expensive on its own.
I had three lenses.. a standard, wide and a telephoto. I love my telephoto lens. Most of the time i am with that and going all over town taking pictures with it. But taking pictures were costly. A roll of film cost a few bucks.. and to develop... it was more cash on the flow.
All our lives, he has given me and my sisters a lot. He used to cycle many miles to teach tuition. And when he got paid, he never forgets to take us out for ice-cream treats at Green Fern and Maxims. Those were the best places to have ice-creams way back then. And that's where i had my chocolate scoop of ice-cream. Come to think of it.. its always the four of us kids who had ice-creams... i don't remember mom and dad ever having anything. They just sat with us and watch us eat.
My very happy childhood which i will never exchange for anything in a million years. Except for mebbe my big sister the big bully.. hahahhahahaa.. which i manage to counter and fight back when she pushed me too far one day. It was hilarious to see her run the other way... and very fast too. But now she's actually a very nice person.. hahhahahaa.. she has a very good heart.
I am very happy today when i bought the camera. Even though its not the very high-end model of a compact camera, it was in my budget at the moment. Kinda have a very happy feeling because i was able to give something back to my father. A gift of photography that he unconciously gave me.. which i am able to repay today.
I have been busy with my "boyfriend" for the past month. We have been real busy on a very feverish pace.. hehehe.. to achieve what some of the best did. So far.. we have not achieve it yet. Maybe i should just put this "boyfriend" aside first and move on to other work ;)
Am looking for a camera for papa. Recently... he has this sudden urge to take lotta pictures.. and with his sudden surge of many places to go with his friends, he probably earn himself a camera from me. He has a crummy ole nokia... and poor man trying to take pictures on it... and the most the nokia can take is maybe about 20 pictures. The pixels are not too great. And he does have a very good eye for photography. Our proof is the pictures he took of us when we were little :) Everyday he comes and show me a picture he took with his mobile. I kick myself and remind myself to go get him a better camera.. hhahahahhahaa
I got my eye on a Nikon (of course) for him. Big touch-screen. And pretty good functions. Am not too sure he can grasp the very complicated functions.. but what the heck rite? He has all the time in the world to learn it. We can go for a photography field trip tomorrow and catch some wonderful scenes for you.
As for now... i am going out to get the camera i saw last week ;) Shh... don't tell my papa i am buying the camera. He'll probably nag me for spending money... think i better get some ear plugs too.. hhehehehehhee...More about this later.
Until ~ Sting
This song is from the movie Kate & Leopold staring Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman. Its a romantic comedy way back in 2001. Any movies with Meg Ryan is a favourite of mine. I can definitely relate to her aloofness in these movies. hehehehhehe
Relationships should be about funny moments and carefree days ahead. Lots of laughs and merry making. How great it is if it occurs in real life ;) Sometimes it does... if you find the equal funny half.
Today is hospital check-up day... and usually he goes there real early to take the numbers and wait for his turn. Since he is a government servant, he gets his daily dose of medicines from the General Hospital. They do give the best and most expensive medicines in the General Hospitals... but you just got to sit and wait for your turn.
And why did he went uwah uwahhhhhhhhh uwahhhhhhhhhhhhhh..?
He came back with lunch.. at 10.30 am. And with supa supa deeeelicious food.
There's this very nice couple.. old folks who has a stall under a big tree. Selling aunthentic malay dishes. Not that the rest of them are not aunthentic but you have to try this old folk's food. Its its simply delicious. And they finish fast. They open their stall at 10.30am.. and before 12.00... all their pots and tupperwares are empty. People start coming at 10.30.. like my papa.
Papa came home grinning away like he has a bunch of gold nuggets in his hands. He quickly showered and dig into his lunch at 10.30... calling out to me and ask me to eat my lunch quickly. He will go.. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. so nice la this... wahhhhhhhhhhhhh.. the sambal belacan is to die for.......... wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... how can anyone cook such deeelicious food... wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... uwahhhhhhhhhhh uwahhhhhhhh away while he is digging into his food. It is hilarious to me.. hehhehehe
Each time he buys this food from the old folks under the tree... he will go uwahhhhhhhhh uwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... hhahahahhahahaa..
Aunthentic malay dishes must be eaten with your fingers.. digging into the rice... wahhhhhhh... never with a fork and spoon... cos cos you might want to keep the smell of the food on your fingers long after you've eaten and savour the remnants of the smell. ahhhhhhhhhh... that makes me kinda hungry now.
Hmm.. he doesn't go uwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uwahhhhhhhhhhhh when he eats my cooking at nite.. hahhahahahhahaa.. and now you all know why.
I shall not post a picture of the delicious food here.. hahhahahaha.. Don't want to have you all salivating over the picture.. and and get all your keyboard wet. *LOL*
Its a poem by Mitsuo Aida (translated by Tim Grant)
Because it has lived its life intensely
the parched grass still attracts the gaze of passers-by.
The flowers merely flower,
and they do this as well as they can.
The white lily, blooming unseen in the valley,
Does not need to explain itself to anyone;
It lives merely for beauty.
Men, however, cannot accept that 'merely'.
If tomatoes wanted to be melons,
they would look completely ridiculous.
I am always amazed
that so many people are concerned
with wanting to be what they are not;
what's the point of making yourself look ridiculous?
You don't always have to pretend to be strong,
there's no need to prove all the time that everything is going well.
you shouldn't be concerned about what other people are thinking,
cry if you need to,
its good to cry out all your tears
(because only then will you be able to smile again).
It is simple and very beautiful. It reminds us of the importance of innocence and to live for "now". Don't live in the past and the future.. but today.
I took this excerpt from Paulo Coelho's Like the Flowing River. Sometimes i read some books again after a few years time to understand it better. At different stages of our life, we grasp things differently.
My angels come in many forms.
Mummy... my mummy has always been my angel... watching over our every little step when we were little. Picking us up when we fall... (and i do fall a lot) and taking care of us when we were sick. She's a different angel now..She guides my hands when i cook. She pops ideas in my head... on what to do. She sends me music in our aviary of a garden. Sometimes she sends a whole orchestra :) She looks out for me when i drive alone on long distance... keeping me awake and saving me each time i slip.
My sisters.. though we are all over the place... they never forget to call once in a while to catch up and see how we are coping back home. Everyone is busy with the lives and trying to make good of it. Sometimes we dwindle apart a bit.. but blood will always be thicker than water. They always come back to Piper's Kingdom if they cannot get me... hahhahahaa.. my sisters reads my blog... to know what our papa is up to.
The children in my life... all of them... keeps me in check and make me do silly things with them... so that i will always be a child inside and skip two steps ahead. Children makes you realise that life is not always tough.
My friends and colleagues who always stand by me in whatever i do. No matter how long i have been away... i can still jump back into the crowd with them and still not a miss a beat. Thats what real friends are.
My virtual world... i only started blogging last year.. and met some wonderful people like Emila, Nessa, Marzie, Diya, Ken, Cindy, Bain, Maria, TH to name a few... oh ya.. Spiffy.. hhahahha.. dear Spiffy that cracks me up with his posts... humour never lost with that dear ole man with the zit. Oh ya.. Aki too... my latest addition to my virtual world. These friends are like angels too. Sometimes we are just there for each other... somehow we connect. Even though we don't see each other. Like silent angels, they have somehow made my lonely nights here.. working away.. more enjoyable.
Stormy... in her/his faraway place... she/he has always been my ears for all my rants about life. (i still rant sometimes.. hehe)
My lil poo and pee... PP and Dommy.. what life would be like without them in my life.
My extended family who sends food and more food all the time to my house.
And my Papa... for all the craziness in his rocket driving... he has never falter to love and care for us. Aging slowly and surely, slowing down in some parts of him too. He mentions that everyday is a bonus to him.
So many many angels i have in my life. How not to be the luckiest person alive rite? So do you believe in angels now? Look around you. Angels are everywhere. Even the strangers that gives you a smile sometimes.
I have always been blessed with love everywhere i go.
Ayama said... a Dat Person is a hybrid between a dog and a cat lover. I probably won't go wrong with a Dat Person... cos they are dog and cat lovers too.
Strange but true. I learn a new word/thing each and everyday. Some things tickles me like hell... and sometimes... some things do make some kinda sense... hahhaahaha
So.. are you a Cat Person or Dog Person or Dat Person?
I am definitely a Dat Person too. I am growing catnips (sponsored by Stormy) now in my garden for the strays that comes once in a while to sun in the garden. Soon i might have the whole gang of neighbourhood cats in my garden... maybe they will stay for good... if catnips are available.. F.R.E.E... hehhehee.. I'll probably get myself into trouble if dad finds out what i am growing in the garden.. hehehhehehhehee
this is an old picture of Tommy enjoying catnip that Stormy grew :)
Catnips ~ Nepeta is a genus of about 250 species of flowering plants in the family Lamiaceae. The members of this group are known as catnip or catmint because of their famed effect on cats—nepeta pleasantly stimulates cats' pheromonic receptors, typically resulting in a temporarily induced euphoric state. Catnip is also known to induce mild euphoria in humans. (courtesy from Wikipedia)
I guess i'll be having a bunch of realllllllllly happy cats in my garden even before Stormy comes back home :) Either that or a very happy Dommy... hahhahahahahhaa
Mild euphoria in humans too? ooppps!
Perhaps Love - John Denver & Placido Domingo

Crazy ~ Julio Iglesias
Don't you just love this romantic classic? It just sends you into a crazy romantic mood ;) This would be an almost sure win if you are a guy and trying to hit on a girl... sing it to her. She'll swoooooon and melt.. hehehe... i think i think it will work :) but you have to have that crazy sexy voice of Julio.
Hope you all will enjoy this song to end this lovely weekend and start an equally crazy day tomorrow.
Have a wonderful nite! Crazy romantic ya? hahahaha
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Poor guy. Dommy once had a twin. His name is Moet. Moet is with another family while we took Dommy. Both of them used to have lots of fun running up and down at the boarding home. We couldn't afford to take both of them even though it was hard to separate both twins. But it would be for the better.
I think maybe he has a problem with separation. Maybe he thinks that they are not coming back. Maybe that's why his face is so sad. I wonder if dogs are like humans. If they feel sadness... and does their heart break. All i know is that the thing that dogs need most are other dogs. They are almost always happy to have other fur friends around.
While PP is grinning his broad smile happily from the car... Dommy is all sad that he does not get to go too. Poor Dommy. Don't worry Dommy.. PP's gonna come back soon... next month. Real fast ya. Now you get all my undivided attention and you get all the treats too.
While this guy is all sad lying here... PP is happily in Kuala Lumpur.
urmmm.. he is catching up on his reading. He reads the BizWeek with his daddy every weekend. He is a most well informed doggy :) CU real soon lil Poo. Miss you already.
